Drove truck this morning after some mods (4 inch exhaust, cat removed, EGR unplugged) all ok except obvious check engine light. Understand need block off plate and fingers but not here yet. What is happening is running great thus far until I exited of 25 mile fwy trip. Once in stop and go driving feels like horsepower is cut in half and feel like bogging on accel from stop. At work now and hope my trip home will be better this evening. Almost feels like vacuum hose popped of wastegate for turbo on V6 Buick Grandnational. Had that experience once. Someone chime in a give me more advise and help me feel better. Truck has less than 1000 miles on it.

Can the truck go above 2000 rpm? You might have tripped the 1093 code. Do you have a programmer code reader?

Can the truck go above 2000 rpm? You might have tripped the 1093 code. Do you have a programmer code reader?Truck was still pulling thru rpm band but felt flat and sluggish this afternoon.
Leaving the office to make 30 mile trip home.
Get back with details soon. Do not have reader by the way.

Drove car
I think the problem is you called your truck a car, and you hurt it's feelings, so it's depressed.

Do you have a boost gauge? I am wonderin what the turbo is doing. No smoke of any kind? Check your turbo boots and make sure they are tight....there was a tsb for that. When was the last time you fueled up....maybe bad fuel? Doesn't really sound like it though. If there is any way for you to get the codes from the computer....that would help. I am thinkin it might not have anything to do with the egr being unplugged. Make sure it was the egr that you unplugged and not something else. Let us know............

Buickpuller,
Mine did the exact same thing...I think its some type of limp mode....Bassically cuts the edge out...and feels a little wors than stock...Assoon as you turn the key over 50+ times it will be great for the next 40 or so miles...Then back to the same...The stick will make the codes go away..Pay attention to the truck after the blocker and finger are installed..Mine acted funny foe almost 100 miles..then seems OK...The next 100 miles will tell

Thanks Dpower and JSTWDK for responding. Have not plugged EGR in yet, kinda slept in. Trying that first then might try to get codes read if my buddy at the Chevy house is working. Will get back with details just as soon as I know more. Maybe if I call it a truck and not a car it will get to feeling better.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif Thanks again.

I don't know what auto parts store you have there, but, Autozone here will read any codes for you free.

Just came from getting codes checked and light turned off.
Had a P0299 = no boost and P0401,P0404,P0405,P1404 = all EGR.
Plugged EGR back in before leaving house.
So far truck is running better and light is off.
With the cat removed will truck run kinda off until the finger stick is installed?
Once fingers in place does it trick the ECM and change some variables for the loss of backpressure?
If so, what are the changes and will truck run better once the mod is performed with cat removed and 4 inch free flowing exhaust?

Running good again!
Thanks for the help.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
