it depends on what you want to do and are planning on doing. So what will you be doing? What is the most power you can see ever throwing at it? Remember its better to have too much trans and not use it than to need to do it twice. Power is also adictive. There was a time when I didnt think I would go over a 90 hp juice and I thought that would be pushing it and now look at my sig;)

Don't lie to yourself Idryfly5, you know you want more power and more and more.... you'll never get enough. You'll only get a new truck and start over again.

"yea but my wallet says otherwise"

I hear ya IDRYFLY5, J/K on the $4K Suncoast mod... Although, I'd love to have it done, then there would be no tranny worries! ):h

I'm in the same boat as far as my wallet goes.:(

Are there issues with the tranny upgrade, as in, something not working right once in awhile? If you just want to run the Edge on level 5 and you get the tranny upgrade, will the truck still be reliable or will you have problems once in awhile? My wife has been talking about it and she just wanted me to ask some of the questions about them.
Is there someone who is reliable around York, Pennsylvania to install an upgrade? It sounds like you have to spend around $4000 to get this done, is that right?
Thanks for hanging in there with me on all the questions.

Central Ohio

$4100 Installed for Complete ATS Upgrade.
http://www.crankitupdiesel.com/installation.html For more options

This will handle everything you will want to throw at it.
When it leaves here it will be just as reliable as it was stock in terms of problems, and it will be more reliable in the fact that it won't limp or burn clutches.

Kyle,
Thanks for the reply. She has talked about the upgrade, since she got her truck. I have been doing alot of reading on the subject and still would not know what route to take. I have been reading alot of the suncoast and the ATS, which you install. I guess it just is a matter of, she doesn't want to break down and have no one to help her out with fixing something, if the transmission would break. ( I am sure our dealer would have no idea)
I guess you just do it and don't worry so much. The money is not a factor, but having a vehicle that is reliable to us right now is a factor.

Is there any differnece between the ATS and Suncoast? Does one have a distinct advantage over the other? Performance wise all I want to do is an Edge, exhaust, and intake. No other mods. Thanks for your help.
