getting error code 1409 an black smoke
have parked truck as getting up hills was a lil hard
problem was worse when tank is getting low on fuel
i know error code 1409 means vacum leak
what do i need to replace where is it can someone give me the how to?
also trucks been dieing out of the blue i think its the opsd but cant get a socket on it with the angle its on anyone have anytips to get her off?

Check your waste gate to make sure it is free moving, not rusted shut, or sticky
AS I said, you could get a turbo master (@ Heath diesel the sit is down right now so I can't give you a link), but you still need the vacuum system for the emissions stuff on you 1500.
Start by checking the vac pump for operation, then the lines for cracks, replace as needed.

Would help to know more about your truck. Year, model (Truck, Suburban, Tahoe) and if its a 1500 2500 3500 (or 3500HD). Vin F or S. Etc. Its likely dead vac pump causing EGR problems if its an "S" powered truck and/or turbo wastegate problems.

ok found the leak in my vacum sytem it was one of the sensors on the drivers side
but iam still getting tons of black smoke and barelly being able to make 80km an hold it
however if i pull over to the side off the road put in neautral an rev the engine i dont get a clanging sound i seem on the highway but i do get shit loads on black smoke can turn a whole block into black smog getting pretty nasty looks
so ill rev it turn the engine off an restart an do this 1 sometimes it takes 2x but after the truck will run fine
today was my first day driving it again since i noticed the check engine light come on about the leak and on the way home light came back on same code error 1409 so iam lost help?

didnt find a s or an f in the vin
the year is 97 model is ext cab truck its a 1500 vac is fine wastegate works

going to get a new air an fuel filter see if that does anything
guy at this diesel speciale4st shop said it was the fuel injector pump wants 3500 for part an install going to try and avoid that
so after filters going to try replace injector nozzels an so on

replaced the pmd with the isalator from heath diesel truck will not start at all anymore and battey light is on even through battery's are fully charged suggestions?
