My 06 lly/6spd ally has straightpipe exhaust, k&n, release valve shim kit and power pup, my egt's r through the roof!!!! i put the extreme tune in it today for the first time and the thing shot up to 1500 degs.!!! in third gear!!! i had to let out just to keep it around 1400. that scares me. i usually have it on the tow/econ setting for everyday driving. i would like to pull a couple times this year at local pulls but im afraid of burning something up. how do i get my egt's down without breaking the bank? sorry so long of thread, i appreciate any input.

Don't worry about high egt's when sled pulling. It's only for a few seconds. Street driving, thats another story.

is an after market intercooler the only option to dramatically reduce egt's?
