Does anyone have data to support which level on the original Edge Juice gives the best fuel economy?

Are any of you getting better fuel economy with the performance chips vs without?

I want facts not guesses. That should be a challenge.:grd: :muahaha:

Tom,

I run my juice/attitude on level 3/low boost level 1. I have been running this setup for quite awhile and it seems to net the best fuel economy for ME. That's not saying you will see similar results, but it works for me. I believe some other folks on here have ran this setup and saw some MPG gains. I usually get anywhere between 15-18MPG on winter fuel and 16-20MPG on summer fuel with this setup. These MPG calculations are hand calculated after every fill up.

I keep very detailed record on our truck which now has over 87,000 miles on it ... has been on Juice for over 60,000 ... when towing a 11,000 lb camper I get around 1 mpg better running the Juice on the 60 hp setting, I believe this to be due to the truck staying in OD more of the time ... if/when I keep my foot under control, around town I do see a minor (meaning around .25 to .5 mpg) difference

running empty with the juice in my case one lvl1,2 or 3 hasn't netted me any difference in mileage under normal circumstances. Towing, I can't really answer to, but it's nice to have the extra power there 'when I need it' especially in high traffic areas such as Chicago.

i read on this board that level 3 low boost fuel 1 nets the best results. well i had to drive to st louis last week and decided to try it out. i ran an avrage speed of about 75 except going through st louis which was about 40 mph due to heavy traffic. i drove a total of 425 miles and hand calculated i got 19.6. this is the best my truck has ever got. wil

I just put edge/ attitude on my truck about two weeks ago. Two tanks ago I got 12.5, one tank ago I got 12.9, this last tank (the first with edge on) I got 14.2. My truck is a cab and chassis with a heavy bed on it so I will never get great mileage. The 14.2 came on level 1 boost 1. I am going to try level 3 boost 1 next. At my job running around the ranch my old '95 Dodge cummins 4WD, 3/4 ton, 5 spd would get 15 mpg after some pump modifications, so I guess a little over 14 isn't bad with a much heavier truck and an automatic.

I have the original juice which doesn't have the boost settings. I wonder now if it might be worth it to go the edge attitude. Any thoughts?

Tom, I have been running the 4.61 Juice for the last 42K miles. My average is 18.7 mpg. I picked up .4 with the Juice. Nothing to brag about. The majority of those miles was on level 4. I ran most of this winter on level 2. I did not pickup anything. I have switched mine back and fourth between tow/haul and regular mode several times while cruising solo. I never saw any change in EGT or boost. Later! Frank

:exactly: what I have seen with my 4.61.
Frank is your level 4 the 125 horse version?

My Hypertech get me 3-4 MPG better. Went from 16-17 to 19-20 and thats on 90 HP and still running it hard, but I have a 6 Speed so I have a little less parisitic draw.

I originally purchased the Edge Juice to attempt to gain MPG's and used the Level 3, low boost 1 setting. I never saw any improvement, but no drop either. I think that any gains (or losses) are heavily dependent on your driving style.

Knowing that some will call B.S., it should be noted that my truck has always delivered "great" fuel mileage. I typically get 20+ MPG on the highway in the summers (no A/C but always using cruise control)...

It's hard to say precisely simply because of the many variables that bear on fuel mileage. But, I believe I'm getting about 1 mpg better with the Juice (no Attitude, lvl 4) than stock. I see about the same benefit towing on lvl 1. As an example, my wife and I drove to Colorado and back last week for my Dad's 90th (!) birthday. On the trip out we were at least 1 mpg above the same trip last year w/o Juice, while traveling at about the same speed (80; 17.7 this time vs. 16.63 last). On the return trip I stepped the speeds up to between 85 and 90 whenever possible, which on Hwy 50 through much of Utah and most of Nevada is most places, and we still recorded mpgs at or slightly above last year's. The lowest, 16.56 mpg, was during a high speed segment into persistent head winds. The best mpgs of the the trip came on the return leg between Colorado Springs and Grand Junction, which took us over 11,400+ft Hoosier pass and a number of other 10,000+ft passes. That was 19.97, again pushing 80 everywhere the roads permitted and including several blasts past slower traffic. Generally, I don't race up to speed, but build to it gradually. I keep an eye on the EGTs and boost and try to stay in a range that over time has shown to return the best mileage. I don't think further break in miles over the years explains the difference. My truck has 50k miles on it and has returned consistently good mileage from day one. The best mileage I've ever gotten was pre-Juice and again between Colorado Springs and Grand Junction on the same roads. But on that occasion I drove much more conservatively than this time.

Had an attitude for 60k now and a juice for 85k and it seems like level 3 is the best setting for me. I usually keep the boost controll on 2 or 3.

I have version 4.81 for Lb7 30-90 hp. No attitude. I run level 3 around town and get 18.5 and around 21-23 Hwy in Arizona. Pulling 38 foot 15K toyhauler I use Level 2 in T/H and get 11-12. I installed some Isspro guages to monitor EGT's and boost. Damn good truck and setup...Jim
