I'm going to pick up an old K5 Blazer this weekend & I need to get a brake controller installed. I have a controller, but I don't know what wires to use. A friend told me it's on the kick panel near the e-brake. I saw some wiring harnesses there but they all appeared to be in use. I looked in the owners manual & found nothing. GM owners manuals suck BTW.
I have a early 03 CC, LB, Dually.........any help would be appreciated.

Go to your local Chev. dealer and get a wiring harness for a 2003; they are different than the first year models.

Get the harness, and then plug it into the panel thats nearly directly behind your brake pedal. Top right position of the panel IIRC, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Sorry guys, but this isn't going in an '03. He needs to put it in an older Blazer, so there won't be a "plug and play" option.
Since you'll have to hardwire this one, it doesn't really matter where you go as long as you follow the instructions with the brake controller.

I understood he was going to be driving the '03 dually he mentioned at the end of the post to tow a trailer loaded with the Blazer. If the controller is going in the blazer then yes he will have to hard-wire it, in which case I can't help him. But if it's going in the dually, then my earlier post is still valid. My apologies if I mis-read.

white wire out of the brake switch is the one you want for brake sense. Most controllers have printed on the wires what they hook to, i.e., trailer, 12v, ground, brake switch
Blue... out to trailer brakes
white... ground
red... brake signal
black... 12v positive

Oops, maybe I'm the one that mis-read Zorganov! My apologies if I came across rude.
