I have an 08 with 20000 miles on it programmed with EFI live getting 20 if I drive on the open road @55. I would like to get it to do this on the interstate @ 70 or so. The DPF is gone and the program is really close to a PPE 90 hp program (copied and added a few minor touches).

I was wandering if I added the MP8 to it if that would help my mileage any or if I would be throwing my money away. The ability to adjust on the fly with TS is what catches my eye plus when I hoook to a trailer I could adjust and not worry yet have plenty of hp when empty.

Has anyone tried his and did it work out? Would this increase mileage any over what i can get now? Thanks for the input

Read up on the TS MP-8.... I have not read any good reviews of it on the LMM trucks... some people say they are great on the LLY but I have not read ONE good review of it on the LMM. If you want to switch something on the fly use EFI with a stock tune/DPF delete and run the Edge Juice with attitude or the Banks 6 gun. Otherwise just stick with EFI Live.

Would be nice if someone figured out the DSP-5 for the LMM trucks :D

Um, you could make the changes that the mp8 makes with EFI Live. All it does is raise boost and rail pressure. I guess there is still some work to be done with the mp8 lmm's. If you're looking for milage. I would pull boost out of it when you're crusing and add a little timing and rail pressure. Do some datalogging and make your adjustments one at a time.

I was just thinking that would be a way to have an adjustable tune, kinda like EFI live has the dps-5 switch( I think thats the name I want) for the older D-maxs. Sounds like I would be better of sticking with my efi, I just don,t have much time to play with it making the tune I want. Any suggestions which tables I need to use and how much change? I think I would like to keep the boost to make it smoke less, maybe make it not change (more like old school turbos) is that safe to do and how?

Well you will need to shim the rail valve. I just added 10% rail base pressure to my pulling tune table and played around with the desired boost in the mid to high throttle range. It takes a lot of test and tuning, but you will get it. Let me know if I can help.

Is there an advantage to keeping the turbo vane position stationary? In fuel economy or mainly performance? I pull a gooseneck some and use it quite a bit on the farm, but it makes my long trips too. I would hate to go too far with it since I don't have gauges yet! Any main thresholds I shouldn't go past to keep it safe? No tranny kit yet either.

I wouldn't touch the target vain position tables yet. The scan tool will log everything you need except the egts until you hook up the thermocouple to the v2. A pyro is a must with efi in my opinion. You can play with timing and boost and throttle based injection and fuel pressure, but only adjust a little at a time. It's hard to tell you what to do with out actually riding and tuning the truck. Don't want to tell you to do something and have it go wrong. There are some tunes in the Library that you can try and I have a few also. It is really up to you and how you want your truck to perform. Tweak one thing and test it out and see how you like it and tweak some more. It's all fun, just do a little at a time.
