Which programmers produce the lowest EGT's? I'm looking for something in the 50-100 hp range. This Hypertech is brutal.

what don't you like about the Hypertech??

75 mph empty on flat ground, it runs at 1000 degrees(egt) right now. I'm concerned about what it will do when it's 110 outside.

I thought hypertech was supposed to be on of the more mild tuners. Have you checked your thermocouple? Maybe someone else running it can give you there exp. with EGT.

If you decide to get rid of the Hypertech, you may want to look into the TTS tow tune. I think McRat dynoed it at around 65 Horse. Everyone that has it loves it. They say it drives exactly like stock, but with a bunch more get up and go.

When I run 70mph, my egt's are approximately 600-625 with the GUN set to level 2.

Autometer told me to unhook the probe and power the gauge and it should read 32 degrees.

While my DiPricol requires no power, it does read about 50° due to ambient temp.

You might try swapping your thermocouple out for a new one and see if that makes any difference. I really don't think you should be seeing temps like that empty while just cruising. You can also have places test pyros/thermocouples.

Although I have no experience with either, from info on other similiar threads, the regular Juice on lower levels as well as the VA SmartBox E on the lower level was supposed to perform well with low EGT's.

Remember when comparing tunes that you have an LLY. Make sure you compare apples to apples, a LLY will be alot differnt from an LB7. My expereince with an LB7 is of no use..........

have you tried running it on the stock tune for a bit to see if it runs the same temp?

75 MPH around 500-650 empty Juice set on Level 3. Towing 15K 5ver 850-900 degrees on flat ground. Only hits over 1,000 when pulling 5ver up hills. I would think your Pyro is not working correctly...Jim

It`s hard to believe that any mod would raise the exhaust temps to 1,000* while running empty on level at 70 mph. I can't say what box is best for the LLY, but I run the Quadzilla Stealth 135, and running 70-75 on somewhat level road, my X-Monitor reads 450-600. I don't see anything close to 1,000* until I either tow 10,000# on 4% grades at 60+ mph, or I am driving on 7% grades empty at 70+ mph.

With the Stealth, my truck runs less then 200* hotter then stock max, and nearly the same on normal driving. If the new Stealth for the LLY is anything like the one for the LB7, then that is the one to get. You will have a hard time finding another box that runs as cool as the Stealth.

I don't know about MT, but at 16,000 pounds my 05 will hit 1375 degrees @ 65 MPH on a small hill. STOCK! The Edge EZ will put it over 1425 on lowest setting.

i can hit 1400 deg. with no program, with my 15030lb. learn to watch temps. no reason to climb hill at speed, just because the truck can.
