I'm looking for ideas on 1 ton dump trucks, show me what ya got, I think I wanna go with a stainless dump body, and i'm not sure about a 6 speed or the Alison, gonna be plowing, and towing a small backhoe, any suggestions, Oh and its gonna be a DURAMAX:ro)

02 - I havn't the foggiest idea as far a dump goes..
However, if you're going to be plowing....and damn I can't believe I'm saying this........I think the automatic will serve you better...The 6 speed reverse is painfully slow...

You might look at monroe truck equipment to see what they have for dump box coversions, come to think of it..

Scott, you probably already know this, but just in case 02duramaxx doesn't... the Allison reverse is slower than molasses too and revs light a son of a gun! Besides that I see a lot of guys plowing with the same setup around here and I have talked to them about it... they say it's a great plow truck and gets the job done. I'm sure the towing part of it would be no problem.

Yea, I think you would be happier with the overall ease of operation of the Allison. I say all of this assuming that there is PTO provisions available for the Allison, I don't know as I have never really checked in to it. I would love to have a brand new 1 ton cab and chassis myself, I just love my 2000 model GMC 1 ton flatbed, it is just the most usable pickup ever. I would like to have a dump bed myself, but would have to have another 1 ton because I'm just not going to give up my flatbed.
