: the dumbest question I have ever asked.....
Where in the hell do you put the jumper cables on these trucks?!?!?!?! I tried both batteries and there are stupid caps on both then when I get them moved enough the cables are just to big to fit....I gotta be missing something.
please dont bash me to hard.....:D
lgo86 04-06-2009, 01:51 PM Its not easy to make good contact with those caps on there. The front should lift up and the back should pull up as well. After you do that just do your best to make the clamp make good contact. Those little terminal covers are a PITA.
BlueBurby1 04-06-2009, 01:58 PM well ground should be going to a good metal ground on the engine...
QuikSSilver 04-06-2009, 01:59 PM umm.... your truck is newer than mine so maybe its different... but on mine just about the power steering pump is a red plastic box labeled BAT that is the positive terminal connection point and next to that is a metal plate labeled GND that for the negative .... easy as pie.
your sound like its different..... but just thought I'd throw that out there
thanks fellas I thought I was going crazy, I have some monster size cables and they just dont fit.
OIL99 04-06-2009, 03:00 PM Does anyone know if the LMM has the BAT post or connection box? I thought I read somewhere it does but couldn't find it. Managed without it but as others have said it's a PITA!
Jaybeecon 04-06-2009, 03:33 PM The positive terminal on the passenger side battery has a raised stud - about 1/2" x 3/4" - that's pretty easy to clamp on to.

lol, Im glad its not just me!!!
Sacket 04-06-2009, 04:29 PM Yep same problem. I have big cables and fortunately there wasn't a big draw on power when I jumped someone because my cables would barely stay on. If someone finds a solution please post it.
GaryK 04-06-2009, 05:06 PM I mine, the passenger side battery has a large lug on it but its shaped not very well and it would be hard to get a jumper clamp on it. On the drivers side there is an extra bolt sticking out for a lug. I guess you could make your own set-up for a clamp connection on this bolt...
I was nice on the older models with that isolated battery connection.

well on lunch I tried to jump my other truck and I couldnt get the cables on the drivers or passenger side.
I cant believe that jumping a truck would be this diffacult.....
wildcatbrownhound 04-06-2009, 06:27 PM :rolleyes:All you have to do is take a cutting torch and cut all that stuff out of the way. Thats what I did. LOVE YALL:rolleyes:
alvareracing 04-06-2009, 08:09 PM Dang, I love does smoke wrenches.
well now Im pissed!
I get the cables hooked up to the LMM and try to jump my other truck and nothing, the dead trucks not even taking a draw off the LMM. So I decide to try with my girlfriends Acura TL, which starts my big truck right up.
Can somone please give me a good explination of why a 53 thousand dollar truck cant jump a dead vehicle? I mean seriously, what a joke!
zipman5150 04-07-2009, 11:56 AM I have Jumped many other engines off of my LMM.. the passenger side battery i found to be the best.. there is a lug on the neg side that i clip to and the bolt on the POS side... I have some hevy ga cables, i think 2 ga and big clips on them...
BlueBurby1 04-07-2009, 12:07 PM I want to get the CAA(AAA) Quick connect jumpers for my rig as I do roadside...makes life easy plug in on my end, and attach to other vehicle.
also want to use a nato booster for my vehicles and my buddies vehicles, that way any time we need a jump, plug plug go

Well then maybe mines slow or something because I hooked the cables to the passenger side posative peg thing that sticks up and then I was able to get a good ground on the neg terminal and nothing...no draw or anything.
Ridgerunner436 04-08-2009, 05:58 AM The $53,000 LMM doesn't "jump" the other engines. It's $100 battery and your $20 jumper cables do. You simply have to have a good connection and good cables.
ob--one 04-08-2009, 08:01 AM Haven't had the need to boost another vehicle but there are terminal post conversion nut available. It has a 5/16 nc female thread same as your battery or other terminals and an old post style on the other end.

Wouldnt you agree that GM should put something in there trucks that can be used? Considering the truck new has a 53k price tag! The cables are not the problem, its the lack of space!
Not to mention, if i set the batteries on the ground and hook the cables up my dead truck isnt gonna start.....hence the 53k LMM does "jump" the other engine.
Diesel52 04-08-2009, 10:54 PM With my age I am finding that there are alot of bad ideas that companies have passed off. Something that most people are going to have to get is a multi meter of their price range, this way it would tell you what the voltage is on the battery or connection. Or if a wire is good continuity wise etc. I will have to find out the name of an electrical connector that will splice two eg 2/0's in a tee and tie in a male welding cable end and have a female end to cover it and be able to put your jumper cable end on it but will have to figure how to support it for the process to work. But I can make it work.
str8pipelmm 04-09-2009, 09:54 AM I've never had any problems, rip off those covers and throw them away.
Blown98Roush 04-09-2009, 11:20 AM Although I do agree that it's a PITA, I've never had a problem jumping another vehicle. I usually clamp the positive cable to the post on the passenger-side battery and I just clamp the negative onto the black support over the negative-side of the battery because my cables are too big to get under it.
well now im seriouslly confused, cause my LMM wouldnt jump my other truck but my girlfriends acura would. I also tried 2 different sets of cables just to make sure they were good.
ob--one 04-11-2009, 07:29 AM str8pipelmm has it, rip off those plastic covers on the battery. Couldn't remember what style the batteries are. Looked at them yesterday.
