just a quick question for you who have the speed limit removal capability, what is the maximum speeds that you have reached running stock tires. also if anyone knows the max speed for, say, some bfg 285's.

GM's legal/engineering team has often set the speed limiter to the maximum safe speed capability of the OEM tires.

As an extreme example, in our family in 1996 we purchased an Oldsmobile Aurora. If one specified the "normal" tires, the speed limiter was set to 109 mph. However, if one specified the "Autobahn" package with H-rated, 130 mph tires, the speed limiter was bumped up to 130 mph.

I believe that normal, E range tires are rated for somewhere around 95 mph. So, in theory, any speed over the factory governed limit is too fast for the tires.

Kelly,

haha, yes, the land yacht can go pretty fast!! Trans feels so strong, I'm real happy with it. Only wish I had a bigger tune!!! Want to stay away from the drugs but its really tempting for the gain of power! Still running the Edge 3/Pred 100 stack, so far its pretty good, but I am sure there will be something more powerful out soon that isn't beta.
