: Wheel Well Liners
drdanq 04-03-2009, 03:37 PM Okay...My first post so be gentile! Just bought my first Duramax, a 2008 Crew Cab LT2. I love the truck! I want to buy some wheel well liners for the rear wheel wells but can't seem to find any for '08s. Any suggestions!!??
theunderlord 04-03-2009, 03:48 PM get a can of flat black spray paint and go to town!
I couldn't stand how the red of my truck stood out, the flat black took care of it for less than 5 bucks.
drdanq 04-03-2009, 04:01 PM Yea, my truck is white and I just don't have the nerve to take a spray can. I have thought about spray in bed liner when I get that done but would prefer the plastic liner.
Duramax-LMM 04-03-2009, 04:10 PM Your dealer can set U up with really nice plastic ones.........

drdanq 04-03-2009, 04:12 PM I saw these liners at gmpartsdirect.com but only up to '07. Will they fit a '08?
drdanq 04-03-2009, 04:18 PM Answered my own question! They are on the way! Thanks!!
mycopsycho 04-03-2009, 05:44 PM I like these. Is there much to installing them?
Diesel Dragon 04-03-2009, 11:31 PM They go in easy enough, uses 3 holes that are already in the fender lip to attatch 3 push plugs and then you drill 4 holes in the inside of the fender to hold the rest.
Fits very well, the only thing I added was a couple pieces of rubber mud flap at the front and rear to close it up some more to help keep the sand/salt away.
.
Bow08Tie 04-03-2009, 11:48 PM The wheel well liners are a great addition. They help visually lessen some of the noticable gap if your running 16" wheels. I had the dealer throw a set in for the rear wells, as an extra no charge when I bought the truck.
bigfish_Oh 04-04-2009, 01:51 AM I found more reasonable shipping here.

bigfish_Oh 04-04-2009, 02:06 AM that web site was interesting. I looked through accessory catalog and put 2008 seat heater in cart($399.) , price stayed at list clear thru check out. I knew parts were cheaper. I backed up and searched by part number and part discounted to 299. clear thru check out. I priced 13 items here, gmpartsdirect wanted almost 100. more for shipping. 4 tire sensors and 4 nuts had same shipping each, BEWARE wherever you go. I ordered mine at local dealer for a few dollars more, I found this site the next day.

mbensley 04-04-2009, 11:15 PM for my truck i went to the dealer and ordered rear wheel well liners
part number 19166676 line pk for 99 plus tax... and didn't have to pay shipping....
installing them was a breeze, they fit so tight i didn't even put any of the screws in, haven't had any problem yet...
they are on my white long bed... makes a huge difference, as in good!
bigfish_Oh 04-04-2009, 11:26 PM mbensley, fairborn,Ohio ? 84.15 dealer within 50 miles

Personally I like the red of my truck, has more emphasis on the wheels and tires with a red background. Course it's a pain to clean, but that's a different story :D
mbensley 04-05-2009, 03:27 AM mbensley, fairborn,Ohio ? 84.15 dealer within 50 miles
you are correct, fairborn oh..
when i ordered mine (nov 08) after a month of owning the truck, i just went to Langs chevrolet off of 35 in beavercreek....
the price might have changed since then, i just looked at my bill of sale for the part number, and threw the price i paid
Duramax-LMM 04-06-2009, 09:31 AM I spray bombed undercoating in my RED truck first - held up OK but was chipping and snow and ice would build up in there big time.
Just looks CHEAP to me painted RED or any light color in there. Then a year later when found out about the liners went with them - much more finished looking - sheds snow and ice better - all around good and cheap improvement - like the General should have made them anyway...........
;)
drdanq 04-06-2009, 09:55 AM Thanks for all the responses! The liners should help reduce the chipping etc from the winter and general north east road rash. Its my first diesel and I want to keep it as new. Spray in bed liner is next!! Then who knows what after that! Ill try and post pics soon as well.
Sacket 04-06-2009, 11:44 AM Can any post some pics of their liners? Curious to see how they look. Thanks.

Just ordered mine. Less than $100 shipped. Sad the corners GM is cutting these days. It has been bugging me since I brought it home. They prob figure, more rock chips, faster rust, sooner the truck looks crappy and buy a new one or replace a bed
FYI, dont know if there is a physical difference......
Part # 19166676 - Chevy
Part # 19166677 - GMC
cheif42x 04-06-2009, 04:31 PM I have a white 3500 dually I had the line-x guy spray them. This is the 4 one i've done works great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sierramax05 04-06-2009, 05:03 PM I'll second that cheif. Line-X has held up since 2005... but I do like the idea of snow and ice shedding off plastic.
gunnerchevy 04-06-2009, 08:24 PM just bought a set 70.00 cdn cheaper than most i have seen

Caramon 04-06-2009, 10:40 PM I have a white 3500 dually I had the line-x guy spray them. This is the 4 one i've done works great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I asked about that when I had my bed liner done, the guy told me that it'd cost about 4 x what I'm paying for the bed liner because they'd have to grind it down to get it to stick and the wheel wells aren't easy to work in.
Sierramax05 04-06-2009, 10:48 PM Had mine done when I ordered truck. Cost $100 extra.

Carl Lassiter 04-07-2009, 12:09 AM ^Wow, great pics and annotations, very helpful. Truck looks great
I'm about to order these from gmpartsdirect $100 after postage
Sierramax05 04-07-2009, 12:15 AM Nice...doesn't get anymore helpful then that. Good job SJH.
drdanq 04-07-2009, 08:34 AM Great pic Luke! My '08 is white as well and I really like the way those liners look against your truck!! Did you screw them in? I have heard that only a few screws are necessary.
theunderlord 04-07-2009, 01:12 PM here's one on an '08. Luke

Sacket 04-07-2009, 06:44 PM Here are some liner photos.
Thanks for the photos. That helps tons.
tbhrose 04-29-2009, 10:12 PM I have a friend who put these on his 08 CC SWB LTZ and they look great! He described a very easy install as well. I'm ordering a set for my 08 too!
luke warm 04-30-2009, 12:40 AM Drdanq,
I just followed the instructions that came with 'em, and installed the supplied fasteners. Easy, and for the $, worth it. And yes, chevy mudflaps...also an easy install with the supplied hardware. Luke
04gmcmax 05-01-2009, 09:24 AM Anyone have airbags in the rear along with the liners? I have the liners and was thinking of getting a set of airrides, but not sure about clearance issues.
RHoppe 05-02-2009, 09:47 PM for my truck i went to the dealer and ordered rear wheel well liners
part number 19166676 line pk for 99 plus tax... and didn't have to pay shipping....
installing them was a breeze, they fit so tight i didn't even put any of the screws in, haven't had any problem yet...
they are on my white long bed... makes a huge difference, as in good!
I'm with mbensley on htis one !!! They fit so tight, there is no reason to drill the extra 4 holes in each side to hold them in place. Just a reason to start more rust and corrosion. And the top 3 pushpin fasteners for the top lip....just pitch them in the garbage also. First off the holes that they do fit in are too loose and they just wobble, and the others...well the sheetmetal doesn't really line up with with the double stamped edge and they are out of alignment to get the pushpins in. No fasteners required, they fit nice and tight to all the contours of the wheelwell !!
Rhoppe
bigfish_Oh 05-02-2009, 09:58 PM this pic will let you see the liner
http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=307724
85.15 plus tax from local dealer, takes longer to unwrap than to install, did not use screws, used pushpins only
mbensley 05-04-2009, 02:59 AM Here is a good view of the liner on white CC/LB
