: Texas Ranch Edition DRW
mydeuce 04-20-2005, 10:07 PM T-REX, sorry for the delay on getting these pics posted. Finally had the opportunity. Anywho here they are. Enjoy, cuz I do.... got more pics if your still hungry.
All, flood me with the "opinions" of the best "power juice" avail for this beast. Banks? Edge? Predator? Looking for some input from those who have had the pleasure to unleash the animal of an 04 5.9. Thanx to all in advance.
T-Rex 04-21-2005, 12:20 AM Thanks for the pics mydeuce. That looks great!
What color is your dash? Is that gray? It looks like it is and the door panels too.
Looks really nice. You should be proud.
mydeuce 04-21-2005, 04:10 PM Yessir!! It's a two-tone Lt. charcoal gray (face) and a darker shade on the top. Here's a closer pic. The wood dash is a sweet transition between the two.
gelecon 04-22-2005, 06:36 PM MY Deuce: I see you have the ISSPRO gauges. Did you buy them as a package or individually. I have not seen this setup before and think its how I will be going. Any information on part numbers etc. would be greatly appreciated. Nice truck!
mydeuce 04-22-2005, 08:45 PM Gelecon, I purchased the guages seperately. All guages are 2-1/16". Here's the information you need for this to be complete. Pyrometer P/N# R3807GR ($93.78), Boost P/N# R6823R ($44.27) and Trans Temp P/N# R6859E ($79.40). To make it all work you'll need these items. Thermocoupler P/N# R650S ($36.78), High Temp Leadwire 8' P/N# R660-8 ($10.67), Boost Hose Kit 10' P/N# R7110-10 ($10.12). My Shipping and Handling from Missoula, MT to Great Lakes, IL was $10.38. With a grand total of $285.40. I ordered them off of the USDieselParts.com web site. OBTW. If your looking for the dash pod, I ordered that from Everythingoffroad.com. It comes in black but ready for painting. It was around $60.00 w/free shipping. The guages are great but let me forewarn you that ISSPRO's directions are extremely vauge. Thanks to "The Diesel Place" patron professional (Blue600), there are photos of his install job under the "guage install" on thread page #2. Happy Shopping!!!
VFRRider 04-22-2005, 08:48 PM I must admit, Dodge has the best looking Dually going. Saw a brand spankin new black 3500 Cummins the other day..very nice
mydeuce 04-22-2005, 09:18 PM VFRRider, I checked out your website. How's that XZillaraider for a product? Any non-biased opinion floating out there??
Bertram65 04-22-2005, 09:49 PM Nice looking truck, better trade those little mirrors in for some factory tow mirrors though, can't imagine a dually without tow mirrors.
mydeuce 04-22-2005, 09:58 PM Bertram65, Ya readin' my mind. Stuck some little convex mirrors in the corners for now. I usualy tow a 20' haulmark. It's not too bad with that. But looking at a 5th wheel so it's gonna be a "gotta have" addition.
gelecon 04-22-2005, 09:59 PM my deuce....thanks for the info......time to place an order! Factory towing mirrors are 325.00 from the dealer for power heated. I upgraded mine and love them.
mydeuce 04-22-2005, 10:09 PM Gelecon, My pleasure on the info. I'll be stopping by the dealer tomorrow to do some "mirrored" window shopping. Thanx.
VFRRider 04-22-2005, 10:10 PM mydeuce I don't have any feedback yet, new for 05 product. Quadzilla is very confident on the whole Xzillaraider line for both Dodge and Fords and very actively backing this line. Here's the link to the page on their site, http://www.quadzillapower.com/dodge-cummins/xz-03-05.html . Give them a call, they will answer any questions you have on the product. Check over on the Dodge sites, I'm sure you'll find users with feedback.
mydeuce 04-22-2005, 10:17 PM Did an quick scan of the quadzilla site. gonna e-mail them for some hope they get some before/after graph results. Their air intake prices are a good deal. I put your and the quad site in my "FAVS".
gelecon 04-22-2005, 10:46 PM to change the mirrors you don't have to take off the door panels. Remove the screw on top of door panel and reach in behind with a 10mm 1/4 drive socket for the top 2 screws and use a 10mm short wrench for the bottom screw. It takes a little patience but works well..........I broke my right side mirror 2 months after installing it and had to change it twice. :(
mydeuce 04-22-2005, 10:51 PM gelecon, ouch on the mirror!! so i guess changing twice, you about qualify as an expert ay? so your in maine. lived in Bath from 93-01. i would imagine that you plug your cummins and dmax i over night. no difference here being just outside the "windy city".
gelecon 04-23-2005, 07:32 AM Plug it in at work and park it inside at home....thus the broken mirror. Good thing its not a 3500 DRW or I might have needed a fender also. LOL
mpfireman 04-23-2005, 12:40 PM Bertram65, Ya reading' my mind. Stuck some little convex mirrors in the corners for now. I usually tow a 20' hallmark. It's not too bad with that. But looking at a 5th wheel so it's gonna be a "gotta have" addition.
A lot of posts are now asking about the clearance between the truck rails and the underside of the trailer, when pulling a fiver. My 98 2500 Ram has enough clearance, between rails and trailer, but it is not a 4x4. It seems that the newer trucks sit higher, thus when hooked up to the fiver, there clearance is marginal, and when towing, the trailer it does not sit level, and appears to be heading up-hill all the time. Now some RV owner have flipped there axles on there trailers, but that makes the trailer more top heavy, as it now sits 4-6 inches higher off the ground. So check your top rail height, as compared to the ground clearance of the fiver. Different trailer Mfg have different clearances.

mydeuce 04-24-2005, 10:27 AM mpfireman, i am gonna take a stab here and guess that your post was supposed to be directed to the trailer/towing thread entitled "5th wheel leveling"? true or false? please circle one. always good to read any of posts though
Dodge-5.9 04-26-2005, 09:37 AM i think the truck is great. i think the Seats are AWESOME!
