Anyone use this? Pulls a big 45watts but also puts out 3.4 cfm. Looks pretty nice and it's around $289 so not "too" expensive...

anybody have any experience with this? Or maybe our PacBrake vendor can chime in on more specs on this compressor...

Looks pretty beefy, it might power an impact wrench at the cfm rating... (or I'm just dreaming... :D)

Anyone?

Nobody?

What would you like to know, I have a few towtruck opperators useing them with no complaints, as for an impact gun you need to check the flow rate required for the wrench/gun vs. the compressor to see if the compressor will keep up to your tools.

It's 100% duty cycle from what I read, how long can it be run at a time without needing a break?

As far as flow rate it says 3.4 cfm but I don't know at what PSI? Most of the impact wrenches I have seen are rated "X cfm at 90psi" so if I find one that is 3.4 or less would it work well with this compressor? The specs look impressive and the price is right so I think I found my compressor I just want to make sure I know what I'm getting ahead of time... Thanks!

Think he wants to get CFM performance data like this from you. But this is only one part of the story as tank storage volume will have some influence on how long you can operate a tool continously.......

Yeah that is what I'm looking for... I'm hoping I can run an impact wrench but I don't know too much about what is needed... If I get a big enough tank would that solve part of the problem?

Maybe but...
Need to outline your expectations a little more.

Size impact gun and duration of use expectations.

An IR 231 gun use a little over 4 cfm a minute flat out @ around 100PSI. So for flat out production work this PACBrake unit is lacking CFM.....but would work if you don't mind doing work in bursts....

Yeah... basically I would like to be able to pull all of the lug nuts off one wheel and hope that the compressor is ready fairly soon after so I can pull off the next wheel.

I was looking at a craftsman 1/2 drive impact wrench that was rated 400ft lb torque. It says it requires 3.9 cfm @ 90 PSI.

Nothing big as far as use goes... mainly just be able to fill tires... fill the helper bags... in the future run train horns and so forth... I've considered doing a york belt driven compressor because they flow a ton of air but it would be easier for me to wire up an electric compressor.

Thanks for the help!

You could try this http://www.viaircorp.com/d480c.html I bought that kit last year and still haven't installed it

I'm getting close though :D

You could check out Hornblaster's pricing.....that's where I got mine. Their E-bay store pricing was the best I could find, but I suppose if you found it somewhere cheaper they would price match. If you go with them ask for Garrett, tell 'em that dude in Oregon who had the lifted truck then lowered it and bought the dual 480c's from you, but hasn't installed them yet sent you LOL! Oh boy I crack myself up. That's just dumb though......I really need to get these things installed.
