I know it is a good thing to get longer shocks when you install a leveling kit on your truck. Well I decided to be "cheap" and buy the lower shock extension brackets for my 2007 classic 2500HD 4x4 since I only have 29,000 miles on it and they are mostly empty highway miles. Well I ordered them and they are the standard looking mounts like the ones that come with the ready-lift leveling kit. When I went to install them they are identical to my factory ones. In all the pictures they show the factory bracket being very small, why does my truck have the larger bracket from factory? Did any of the trucks come with that or when I had my leveling keys installe did they just surprise me and add those and neglect to tell me about it when I asked if they installed them? Please help, i'm confused... THANKS

Your sig says you have the ready lift....those came with lower mounts. So you ordered another set after the ready lift?

yes I did order another set because I asked the guy at the time they installed my ready-lift keys if they also installed the shock extensions. He told me that they DID NOT install them because going 2" it didn't need them. Well now that I look at it sure enough, they are the longer brackets so really my question is did any of the chevrolet trucks come with the longer brackets or obviously the install guys must have put them on and the saleman didn't have a clue...?

Yea the guy didn't know what he was talking about because Chevy never installed longer mounts.

Thanks for your input. At least I can't be mad at anyone but myself for not checking but now I know exactly how my truck is setup again because that was the only thing I had anyone else do to it. Thanks for your time and knowledge!
