4-wheel drive locking eratically ? With 4 wheel drive NOT on, I can brake strongly to turn right into a parking lot (slight upgrade) and the 4 wheel drive seems to be engaging for a moment. Or maybe a brake is grabbing.
As I pull on in to the parking lot "something" is still activated momentarily, and definately feels like turning a corner in 4 wheel drive.

Any ideas :confused: ?

I had a similar problem with my 01' Expedition. It would feel like the Auto 4wd would engage for no reason and not come out (started on a 24HR. straight drive from Indy to Key West :( ). It would feel like wheel hops in turns.... I took it in several times as it was intermittent problem the Tech could never really figure out. They finally replaced the ECM and I traded it asap. Hope you get it figured out, because it definately sux.

I had the same problem in my 96' Chevy 3/4 ton pickup, except mine was when I turned left at any speed:eek: Talk about hairy! I about got killed once and pulled over to the side of the road, took the fuse out for the ABS and it cured the problem, unfortunately I didn't have ABS, which is sometimes just as bad. I went to the dealer and they said they would have to replace the computer, so I just traded it in on my DMAX and took a huge negative equity hit!

Don't want to trade it so I will live with it till it's worse or find a repair.

I do think I can make it malfunction when I repeat the same driving steps, so maybe the dealer can find it.
