Well, I finally got my Predator. Now I find out here that the darn thing causes high EGT's. I though that for the money this would be a good buy, and that I could use the first two levels of tunings with my 5er and get some extra power and fuel savings as well. I gather that the fuel savings is at the cost of extra heat due to a leaner running engine, (this would mean less smoke). So now I guess that this means I will need to get the Juice or something that is better for what I want to do. For those of you out there that use the Pred and the Juice or whatever, is the Pred used ony for diagnostics and live data readouts? And how many of you use the PC interface witht he Pred?:confuzeld

You've already got. Enjoy it, you will be ok on the lower levels. EGT's are higher yes, but if used smart, you'll be fine.

PC interface is limited to loading a single tune.
You've already got the Predator and an EGT gauge, just watch the temps and (like Eric said) "you'll be fine".
Don't forget that it will read and reset codes also. Very handy at times.

I've got my predator set at 40hp right now and unloaded can't get it to read over 1150. All I have is an after market muffler, stock pipe and stock intake. I haven't gotten a chance to pull anything over 10,000lbs yet, but with 5 or 6 thousand on it really didn't get much hotter than 1250 on a medium hills. I've tried the 65 and 85. 65 did get hot, I think I could make it hit 1450 WOT unloaded. 85 hp will peg my pyro that reads to 1550 on a WOT run, but it sure moves! Hope this provides some insight.

How much higher?I've never run anything close to a scientific side-by-side test but just from using both (Juice 60/Predator 65) I'd rate the level of performance they deliver as being pretty close ... exhaust gass temperatures do seem to climb much faster with the Predator and please note this is a best guess type estimate, seem to run up to 200°-300° hotter when towing our camper under similiar circumstances

I can run my Juice with attitude in level 5 empty and never get above 1300 egts due to my straight pipe.
