:help:OK, Here is what is going on. I bought a 5" exhaust for my duramax and a new intake system. I also have the edge with monitor. When i had all of this on the truckj ran really good. I then had the wire harness problem. GM fixed andf put a new harness on. I put my edge back on and the engine cuts out at full throttle with the edge chip on. when its stock it does not. Ill be goiung full throttle and the engine just losses power all the sudden then it comes back on then off and continues to cut out ever since they put that wire harness on . I thought it could be my 5" exhaust so i put the stock back on and its still the same way. PLease help me out this is extremelly annoying!!:help:

What is the "wire harness problem"?

It was the one where it had no power and sounded really bad with a loud clatter to it. They replaced it and suad the wiring harness had bad injector wires and this one was updated.

The wire harness problem I think he is referring to just happened to me last weekend. The harness is for the injectors and it gets shorted due to it's routing or lack of a support or a strain relief (vibration?). I was cruising down the highway and it just about quit running and loud clatter. My understanding is that it will only run on 4 cylinders - I assume that there is a harness for each side of the motor. I had 3 miles to the ramp and after checking it over visually, I ran it down the shoulder to the next exit and would only do about 25 MPH. Pulled my juice and had it flat bedded to the dealer. Part is on order but maybe a week out. Apparently there is a bulletin on this. This is an 04.5 LLY with a juice and MBRP, so hopefully I don't experience the same problem when I get it back.

That was only the start of an extremely sh**ty day, especially since we thought maybe the motor cooked due to the clatter. Good points were that my dealer picked up the transport (90 miles), and GM is paying for a loaner. Also, I was tailing a friend with a stock 05 LLY. Previous to that we rolled it on at about 65 MPH and I absolutely left him in the dust. He told me he had it to the floor. For anyone wondering about the upgraded juice, that certainly proved it.

If I experience any problems with reinstallation of the juice when I get my truck back, I'll post.

Interesting.
Can someone who's been there post additional information- I'd like to find the trouble spot and do some preventative work to make sure I don't end up stuck on the road somewhere.

Does anyone have the details from the service bulletin?

BTW, with regards to your problems, to me it sounds electrical/intermittent. These can be tough to find for sure.

Given you just had a wiring harness problem I would look hard at the new harness and make sure you don't have a bad connector now.

and another thing is that the engine runs a little hotter too. The fan is always kicking on to cool it down. the power gets worse and worse like all throughout the powerband there seems to be less and less power and its doing that where the power will come on then off.

I changed my fuel filter about 500 milesa ago thinking that would solve the problem. But it did not. The temp around here get to about 80 in the day and 65 at night. In the night time when im not pulling a load the fan will still kick on. the egt temp gets up to 2200 defrees sometimes but im not sure if this is normal. Does anyone think it could possibly be my injectors or fpr or maybe a wastegate actuator?

I am havng the same problem with my personal truck. Only happens under WOT the lesser the level the more hippen it is. I have tried different Edge boxes no change. I have sent a box back to EDge and waiting for the call back. I also have two customers trucks doing the same thing. I kind of think it is a fuel stavation problem I will post if I come up with anything. By the way I'm stacked and if I turn my attitude down to 0 and my ppe hot xcellerator (whick they called me today and have 60 more hp for it) to the extreme mode then the truck acts fine. It almost acts like you quick turned the key off and then on again.

mine does it to just had o4 lly flashed while i had the edge off I sent it back to be updated when i put to edge back on at first it ran ok but not right but like the next day it started doing like yours at level 3 and soon after started doing it on all settings but stock so i called edge ,they sent me another but the same thing. now i think it could be from the reflash.
