A couple of months ago I had the replacement steering shaft installed. Since then when I turn left from a dead stop I can feel and hear something rubbing in the steering system. It's only when turning left and only from a stop.

I have an appointment on Friday to have this looked at. This is likely something that can be adjusted quickly so I was hoping someone here might give me some ideas as to what to look at myself so I can save the trip to the dealer. Is the shaft adjustable from side to side or up and down where it goes through the firewall?

Mine did the same thing, replaced the gear box ( just needed the bearing according to the TSB but we didnt have the tools and I wasnt fabricating) and it went away for a while. Now its back, only when turning left from a stop. Sounds like something horrible in the column area. I want to get under there and grease the shaft on the outside where it goes through the firewall and see if that helps at all..... problem is, I got plenty of other stuff to do when the sun is shining so that will wait for a while..

Let us know how you make out.
