Okay, so here is what i have been thinking about. Many guys on here quote their highest hp and torque numbers from the dyno, which sometimes does a good job predicting the times they will get while at the track. But obviously by simply listing the highest hp and torque you are leaving the rest of your curve up in the air. My thought is a bit strange, but would it not be better to somehow integrate the dyno curve(ps i realize this would be virtually impossible to do, but it would seem that a computer could do something like this just by shading the area enclosed by the curve) and show the total "area" enclosed by the curve for the entire rpm band or for a standard low and high rpm (for instance from 1500 to 3000rpm). I realize that there is a bit of trouble in doing this, but with the total area and the total rpm, you can figure an "average" hp and torque. I may be just totally wrong in thinking this would be more accurate toward track times. Any thoughts?
