i just installed an b&m shift enhancer and when i turn it on about five miles in to the ride i get a ses light disconnect the batteries for a while and then it clears i run it with the shift enhancer in the off postion no code when i turn it on it lights up again disconnect and reconnect this time arching my socket wrench on a a/c line while connectiong my battery putting a hole in it temp fix with a rubber hose cut in half with a hose clamp will fix later but i dont have a scanner any bodyhave this happen to them or have any ideas what is setting off a code thanks alot

TD says it's due to OBDII ECM and you have to have a reflash to make the shift points change.

i know it works i can feel the change in shifts are you saying i need a reflash so it dosnt give a code

What code? Autozone will read it for free if you have no scanner.

We will see what code he posts back but I suspect it's one of several trans codes, under right conditions with my B&M shift improver body and changed shifting schedule of the reflash tune my Heath reflash throws a code, but since I have a scan tool I know what it is, only happens according to Bill on those trans that have a modified internal shifting body and not every truck has the problem.

are you talking about the b&m electronic shiftplus? that was my first mod and i have never had a ses light from it.

i remember now what the instructions said. if it is the shiftplus, and 98 or newer than you have to shut the truck off before you can switch it on or off. 97 and older can do it on the fly. read your instructions and see if that is the problem.

i havent tried changing the shift enhancer while driving i have only changed it with motor off i went to auto zone today and the code was P0717 turbine speed sensor or something like that it is wierd im getting that code no trans codes anybody know what that code means in detail i have a boost gauge and havent let it go over 15 maybe cause i have been driving it hard testing out the shift enhancer any help would be great dont want anything to blow

i have read a few thread on code p0717 and it sounds like it could possibly be a loose connection somewere on the wires that a spliced into does that sound right or could it be something else thanks for the time
