Hey guys, I have started noticing an odd engine noise. What I am winessing is that certain times under heavy exceleration the engine seems to sound like it is fluttering? Meaning the engine takes on a totally different sound than it normally has. In a way it sounds like it would be floating valves on a gas engine. The diesel doesnt loose power just gets louder and sounds like its fluttering. Anyone ever experienced this? If so let me know what is happening. Thanks!

does the noise come in above 2600 rpm? Sounds very much to me like pilot injection is shutting down which is perfectly normal

Mine did that off and on in the 8 to 10,000 range. Started using a fuel additive havent heard it since. I add 8 ounces of Shell Rotella DFA every tank; it keeps it quiet.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

Thanks guys for the input. I have to go with dmaxalliTech on the pilot injection. Yes it does it at higher RPM's. Thanks again guys.
