Hello all,
I have a question for all of the people who installed an aftermarket exhaust from the Turbo back.....Does your truck now stink like a Ford?? I am seriously considering re-installiny my Cat and suffering the loss of power if any! I just bought a Magnaflow 4" system, which I love the sound, and I picked up 2mpg (in todays world we need all of the mileage we can get!) so I don't want to do anything to "Hurt" that, but the smell is killing me.
DOES YOUR EXHAUST NOW STINK???

You mean the real smell of burnt diesel fuel? Stand next to any big truck (semi) and they smell the same, your kitty just hid it for awhile.

I am highly suspicious that you may be Communist if you don't like diesel exhaust. Are you? Any good, red-blooded Canadian or American should love diesel exhaust.

Un-American Huh?? Don't think so....Maybee anti-establishment, but not a Communist!! I don't really HATE the smell, but I just prefer to smell the one I'm with, not the exhaust. (Don't get any crazy ideas....I know I live in the "Gay-Bay" but I prefer the finer things in life) :muahaha:

the faster you go, the further the exhaust tip is from your nose http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/hihi.gif

I think you need to get one of Finger's sticks. The smell you are talking about is the extremely rich condition that occurs after you remove the cat disable egr etc.. My LLY in no way smells like a diesel should. Take a whiff off of a 12 valve cummins that's been bombed a bit. Ahh.. (Making the face that a bull makes when he gets a whiff of ya-know-what) :)

my 05 LLY did exactly the same thing BTW. When I dropeed the cat, my exhaust sounds like a vacuum cleaner on HIGH and the odor cranked up a good bit... Dont mind the diesel perfume, but if thats unburnt fuel in there, and an fingers'stick would reclaim it...I would be interested in stickin one on!!!!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/hihi.gif

I've got the MBRP 4" no cat, egr plate and finger stick. I have the diesel exhaust smell. I don't think adding the finger stick will make a difference in the exhaust smell.
