I've got Trippin's overhead mount, but I need more mounting spots!:D
So, this about leaves me with the A-pillar since I have an LS truck with no center console like the LTs have.
Are any of them worth a crap, or are they all kinda junky looking?
Is it the same story with the steering column mounts?

I have AutoMeter's triple mount. Boost and Pyro in the top two holes and the Edge Attitude on a home brew mount in the bottom. I glued it to the original A pillar cover with two part epoxy and it clips back in pretty nice. A bit of a seam along the edge where I wasn't too carefull with the glue, maybe some touch up paint. My only complaint is the gauges are pretty close to my face and with my old eyes they aren't real easy to read :(. BTW I cut a slot out of the original pillar cover for the wires n tubes n stuff.
I used a triple so when it goes to the dealer I can remove the Juice and Attitude and if anyone asks the third hole is for a future diff temp gauge ;).

Is the Autometer mount for the newest trucks an actual "full" and completely new A-pillar, or is it another "overlay"?

The Autometer I originally bought is a full length overlay. I don't think there is one available that is a full a-pillar replacement. I would agree with drhutch, a triple mount on the a-pillar is too close to my face.

coyotekid,
We ONLY sell the Auto Meter mounts as they use the REVO TECH material that is OEM approved for heat and warping etc. There are cheaper brands out there but not the same quality. They have a 2 or 3 gauge A pillar with or without the speaker holes. Also available is the over the windshield rear view mirror mount, available in 2,3 or 4 gauge design. It's great for those that don't like the A pillars "look" and want the gauges away from their eyes a bit for easy viewing. The A pillars fit well and look like a replacement pillars but actually overlay the stock pillar. Call us if you have any questions etc.

Mark,
I'm afraid I might need both the windshield mount and the A-pillar in order to mount enough gages to satisfy my anal nature! Besides, even if I'm not that fast, I can always look cool to the Dodge guys by having an airplane cockpit.

if you don't watch it, you will have to have a pilot licence to drive that dmax. ):h
doesn't anybody give you the complete guages in eletronic form? what all does the edge monitor involve, or what is it lacking?

I prefer analog gauges to electronic ones, and I probably won't end up running a Juice, so the Attitude probably isn't going to be the ticket for me.
Eventually, I'd like to have boost, pre and post turbo pyros, engine oil temp, rearend temp, and fuel pressure once I install a lift pump that is to my liking.
So...that's 6 or 7 gauges depending on how I set things up. I may need a bigger alternator.:D

Mark Craig,
Have you had any tripple pillar's with the speaker hole cut out come back because the speaker hole was not in the right place?
Mine was about an inch too low, I had to cut the new guage mount so the speaker could pop thru.
Of course I noticed the speaker hole was not in the right place After I painted it.:(
