Have 07.5 lmm and have a funny whine noise between 1400-2000 RPM on normal acceleration when motor is above 160 F. Dealer said this is normal. Any ideas?

GDK 03-27-2009, 08:42 AM My 05 LLY had the whine, and so does my 08 LMM. In fact I would say the 08 has more of a whine sound than the 05 did, and more noticable in cold weather. So I would agree, assumming were talking about the same sound, its the nature of the beast. The sound I'm talking about is like a hydraulic whine that I think the Allison has alot to do with. hbcbob3 03-27-2009, 08:55 AM I am by no means an expert, but I just assumed it was (besides normal) a fuel pump. I just wish I had a louder turbo to cover up the whiney noise. There's a bunch of powerjokes around here, and the only thing I envy is their loud ass turbo whistles. As regards the whine, it's normal from the Allison 1000 especially when cold. | ||
