I purchased my truck with 41,000 miles on it last July. It came with a 3mo./3000 mile "GM certified used" warranty. Shortly after the warranty expired, the hydroboost unit developed a nasty little leak. I found a thread on the recall that was issued, researched my truck, and found that my Hydroboost unit was inspected and cleared when the truck had 7,000 miles on it.
A couple of questions:
1) What recourse do I have if a part fails after it has been cleared from a recall? 7,000 miles in my opinion is a bit premature to diagnose anything...
2) When did GM start the 12mo./12,000 mile Certified Used warranty? I think I may have grounds to insist this warranty be applied to my truck if my dealer "neglected" to give it to me.
3) Is the power steering/Hydroboost covered under the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty?
4) The truck only has 51,000 miles on it now, what do you think the odds of getting the hydroboost fixed via gift service?
5) What is the best dealer in the Twin Cities Metro area for service? I bought the truck from Lupient Chev in Bloomington, and the recall was inspected at Grossman Chev in Burnsville.
I'm trying to cover all of my bases before I get involved with the Stealers...I really do not want to spend a K on fixing something that really should not fail, it is a MAJOR safety component.
Thanks for your input!
