What is a safe level to use as my daily driver? I do have the dpf delete.
I heard that the higher the level, the better the mpg.

I'd say 70 or 90, I've sen the best gains on mpgs with it at 90.

With those tires, I would stay on the 70hp level. Your on borrowed time above that imo.

Thanks. I was thinking a mild stage would be best. I have a buddy running his ppe on the highest level for a few months now and just thought that's crazy!

My goal was just to make the truck sound better (more like a truck), blow a little black smoke and feel a little power as I lost some with the bigger tires. I'm not looking to drag race.

It all depends on how you drive. You can use the 90 setting if you drive normal. If you aggressive on the pedal, stick with 70.

I have a heavy foot.
Maybe I should back off so my tires will last longer next time. :D

Its not your tires I would be worried about. Alli has a bad sense of humor when it comes to big HP and a heavy foot!:D

i run 90 on mine with 35s and 20s but i think i might have played a little too hard on that setting because it feels like it slips once in awhile. if i wasnt ever planning to build my tranny i would have probably kept it at 70.

I run my Quad on 70hp and love it. Seems to have the best all around power without being to abusive on the Alli. Seems to me this is the best setting for firmer shifts and you still got some black smoke to go with it:D

Thanks for the replies!

Do you drive with the tow-haul on all the time? I heard one should do that with the stock trans?...

No! I have never heard of this before and I have never used the towhaul even while towing. Never seen any use in using it:cool:

Tow/haul for everyday empty driving wont do anything for you other than maybe burn more fuel but when towing it will keep the tranny temps down when towing real heavy or high profile loads. I use tow haul at the lower speeds then turn it off once in the interstate to get tranny into 6th gear faster.

If your going to hot rod the truck tow/haul may be benefical just by keeping the t/c locked up above 1st gear.

Thank you.

Do you guys run exhaust temp and boost gauges?

I am running the Edge Insight for guages and loving it. Best bang for the buck and very easy instalation. Cant get much better than that:cool:

You must run the temp and boost gauges, especially cuz u are lifted. Running bigger tires and a high tune = higher EGT's. I have noticed my EGT's gone up by 50-100 running a 33" tire and a 70hp tune. When I put the 35"s on I'am sure it will bump up another 50. Just make sure u are not spiking over 1200-1400 for a long time.

It was easy, almost as if it belonged there, even running the wire behind the fuse panel cover. You just stick the pod to the dash, run the wire, plug the unit in, plug the wire in to the obd2 port and you ready to watch everything except EGT's at the manifold. If you want that, and i recommend it, then all you need to do is tap the manifold and run the wire under the dash and plug it into the above mentioned wire. Took me about 45mins, not knowing what i was doing. you set aside a couple hours and you'll be good, even having a couple brews

If you don't have lift pumps you will run out of fuel at 135

When I am empty and on 90HP I see 1350 EGT's really fast. I have it on this for milage and passing, but I gotta rember to watch the gage if I play.

Like EXT said, it's easy. Hardest part was drilling for the EGT probe(I let someone else do that cause I was too afraid to drill on my new truck) everything else is plug and play. The instructions are lacking a little I think, you have to pull out that trim piece with the headlight knob in order to get it to sit correctly.

sorry, been kinda busy down here:

That is an Insight. I got both the Insight and the pod from Chad at Alligator Performance(posted just above). He set me up with an awesome custom package with exhaust, quad, insight, EGT probe, and pod, AND he threw in the paint to match the pod to my dash for free. Nice guy, great service, fast shipping.
