I am in the process of getting a chat room set up for all the Diesel place forum members to use. I would like to start a collection to pay for the server space to host the chat unless someone on here has a server or the space to do so. Please let me know if anyone is seriously interested in moving forward with this. Thanks

IRC?

It will be something like IRC but it will actually be a website where you can go, log in and then chat. Still trying to get in touch with the web hosting service.

I could likely host an irc. Could use a java interface with it.

Well lets get it under way. I think that this would be so cool. All the other forums that I have been on have chat rooms and they make it fun to interesting, as well as getting to know people and get the instant help you need. As well as setting up chat times to talk about certain things.. Let me know if I can help... or what I can do..

Go to www.mirc.com
Download mirc
set channel to join efnet
get list or join #dieselplace
chat
I will keep it open till midnight
and every night from now on.

Well I tried to install IRC and in order to keep it you have to pay the 20 bucks, but I have a connection issue with that.. I will continue to work on the Chat room that is web supported. It will not cost and it will be under a www. on the web... Thanks guys

I have a www based one that we are all welcome to use. It's setup at:

It's up to everyone whether we use it or not.


To get in, you have to register by clicking "register" ... You don't have to use your real email address if you don't want... No one sees it anyway. Once registered, enter your username and password and select "dieselplac" as the chat room under "public rooms"

Heres a detail on how to:

Download mirc from www.mirc.com
install
click view/ options/connect/ type in your info
go to servers tab/irc network/efnet
options/connect on startup, reconnect on disconnect
go out of that
go to the lighting bolt and hit it to connect to dalnet (if your running a firewall say yes to allow)
now go to commands at top/join channel
type in #dieselplace then hit okEdited by: problemchild
