Hi, I have a 98 Chevy 3/4 ton with the 6.5L. I just recently purchased a 3 inch down pipe and I had a question on it. Is there a gasket that goes between where the 3 inch pipe is flanged and connects to the turbo? I know when I have worked on tractors some have them and some don't and before i tore into it I just wanted to see whether i needed one or not. If I do does anyone have a part number or does a chevy dealership carry them? Thanks
Jesse

nope, reuse the factory v-band and you're set to go. If you're bolting up to the factory exhaust, have some extra bolts handy. You're likely to break at least one when you unbolt the back end of the down pipe...

penetrating oil and an impact wrench won't break them.

When I did my exhaust. I try to keep my bolts from breaking.. I used penetrating oil and my impact.. Only broke 3 out of 4. Better than I thought. ):h

I do like PB Blaster on hard, rusty nuts and bolts.

Did you clean the threads of grit as well? that can make a hudge difference. Plus things don't rust under the truck down here unless you drive through the surf.

My 00 had to be heated with a torch at the muffler shop to get them broke loose, 20 hours of WD later they came out fine but were beginning to look like tooth picks.

the way they salt the roads around here, you'd be cleaning off the salt if you drove through the surf!
