I had been running a van aaken smart box set on 110hp for 1 day. the second day I put it back to stock and kept throwing a p1093 code. I took it to the dealer because I have 8 months left on my warrenty.

well they have it hooked up to the monitor in the shop and cant figure out what is setting the p1093 code because the truck runs great in the shop. they then take it for a road test and it throws p1093 and lays down.

they can not tell me whats wrong.

please any help?

Pressure relief valve is opening up under higher pressures....this will cause your problem

...but if it was that simple I would hope they would have figured it out by now. I have suggested that to them and they said it was nothing simple...so I dont know

Spend $50, throw a PPE race valve in it and be done with it.

If they replace a FPR valve under warranty and find out you have a programmer they will likely send you a bill for $300+ for the valve.

I am worried about not being able to relieve pressure in case of a fuel spike with the race valve. what is the maximum kPa that the fuel rails can stand upto? I have been upto almost 170,000Kpa before, which probably caused my problem in the first place.

I dont think the stock CP3 has enough pressure to affect the rail.

If you were running a dual CP3 kit then you would need a relief valve still.

You can shim it which will increase the pressure in which it will relieve at but this can cause the valve to go bad or leak over time(I say this because it happened to me and caused 5 injectors to go bad) so I prefer the race valve for a stock CP3 motor.

I had the exact same problem with mine, I bought the truck used. It kept setting the P1093 code, I couldn't get the FPRV out so I installed a lift pump instead. Problem went away, so I would guarantee that is your issue here.

There could be some thing in you tank or the pickup in the tank could have a crack in it.

bingo!!! my PLASTIC fuel pickup was broken. GM wanted almost 400 for a new plastic one so I just ordered a billet aluminum pickup from PPE.
