See Post Three....

Hi all,

This is my first post here. This site is great! You guys have really helped me decide on what make, year and upgrades to buy. But to the point, I've seen that most everyone lauds the Michelin LTX M/S's, and I'm liking the GM offered 20 inch rims. Does anyone have these tires, or the GM factory 20's. The tires are:

Size Rim Sizes Sect Width Outside Dia Max Load

P275/60R20 114T 7.5 - 9.5 11.0 33.0 2365@44*

The rims are:

I mostly commute unloaded, but I will need to pull the occasional farm trailer load of up to 8000lbs. Should I be afraid?

Thanky,
David

You may have a wee bit of trouble bolting those 6-lug wheels on..... ;)

There are no stock 20" rim options for the HD trucks. You would have to go aftermarket. I would not go with a combo that has less than the stock load rating either.

If the max load per rim is 2365@44psi be afraid, the rear axle weight with little to no load is around 3000lbs that would only leave you with 1730lbs before maxing out the rim capacity.

Thanks fellas! You'd think with me having an old 3/4 ton gasser now, I'd have picked up on the lugs...doh! Thanks for being gentle.

So where to look now if I still want some dubs and tires similar to, but better suited than the LTX's?? I think the Toyo Open Country A/T's are 2600@50psi...

Thanks,
David

I'd like to see some forged aluminium OEM 18" wheels for the 8-lug HD's. The option to upgrade to larger brake rotors that are available would be nice.

...and some Revos to match.

I'd settle for 18's if I can't have 20's. That makes the tire question easier anyway...
