Well, here's my 05 in her completion. Many of you know my 04.5 GMC and that I sold it spur of the moment (if not see garage). Well I replaced it quick with one not as perfect so I had a plow truck for the season. Still a loaded LLY, leather, etc, but more miles, a little character (some from me), etc... Nevertheless, I've been gathering bits and pieces to somewhat "clone" her but on a budget this time. The first pic is of it after I put my 285's on mid winter b/c the load "C" 265's were shot!

I called my buddie that now has my GMC (Cog 4/6, UCA's, 35's on 20's) to measure his wheelwell to the ground so I could see how close they were. BOTH trucks were 45.5". I couldn't believe it!!

This one is a 6" RCD, 4" blocks, Cognito UCA's, Fox Shox, Bilstein 5100 rears, Moto Metal 20x9.5 with 4.5" BS and 35x12.5 Pro Comp MT's.

All used parts from members here, so thanks to all who helped!!!

I've had the rims for a while that I got for $650
Tires I bought recently LIKE NEW for $850 plus driving 2 hours+ to pick up
Lift complete $1,200 plus driving across the state to pick up
Front Fox Shox $300 or $350 shipped, I don't remember
Cognito UCA's $250 IIRC

While apart I did an idler and pitman new........$204
I have a set of like new used tie rods on the way for $50 all 4

I did all of the work myself aside from getting the diff in and out. I'm proud of not only doing the work, but of saving the install $$ this time too. Thanks too to a friend of mine with the rack in his garage that let me use it.

Basically, I'm into it for around $3,500 installed WITH wheels and tires, plus extras like the Fox Shox and Cog UCA's, and new parts that I decided to change, so I could actually be WELL under $3k. Not bad! :)

I added the mirrors, grille inserts, etc when I bought it, recently a 4" stainless MBRP turbo back. More small stuff to come, but she's where I want her now. ;)

Looks awesome, the black wheels really set it off. Is that grille you have a bolt over or a cut out and are your headlights cleared?

Thanks guys!!

Tim, I can't believe I sold it either! BUT, my payment dropped over $200 and I roll around on a paid for chopper now too. Can't beat that.

Chevyman, The Cog kit is how it was when I sold the truck. It was coincedence they wound up the same. IIRC, I had it set around 4.5-5" but it must be closer to 5" or more. There was plenty of thread left on the bolts.

Swampfox, the grille is the flat "peremeter" type and yes, it's a bolt over. It's my favorite one and I run it on all of my trucks. I'll try and post a better pic. The headlights are the 'el cheapo ones from eBay. All 4 in the set, clear with black outline. I sealed them up good before I installed them and so far so good.

Nick, I'm lovin' the shocks! They worked out great, thanks. I plan to get a few more pics up, and they're first on the list.

I also forgot to add in the list roughly $200 for 4 new ball joints. I wasn't about to disturb 190k miled ball joints and not replace them! I had a spare set of lower arms, so I had them pressed before I even started. :)

You sure know how to treat a Dmax! Could ya tell us what site to get the clear headlights from?

Here's the link. Usually the cheap headlights are junk b/c they let moisture in then turn yellow. I made sure when I bought them to tape them off and spray the heck out of the seams with spray glue. I have them on 2 trucks now and so far so good. I'll get a better pic on the truck too.

Nice work, it's get alot of satisfaction from doing the work myself. I also learn alot about what I'm working on in the process. Good used parts?...Bonus!

Makes me think about getting some air under my LLY..........
