Drill and tap the intake manifold on top of the engine. We usually pull them off to do this.

ok thats kinda what i was wondering if you tap the thin pipe or the actual manifold. does it really matter where on the manifold or just pick a spot? could i leave it on the truck, remove the intercooler pipe from it and duct tape a shop vac to it while drilling? its kinda pointed downhill too, away from the engine where i think id tap it.

Its only a couple of minutes to take it off and then you know there will be nothing going into the engine.

Also when you take it off you can clean all the gunk out that the EGR and PCV leave inside of it.

I just got the SoCal Diesel Boost Manifold. Does anybody know the best place to install it? Pics would be great if you have any.

Are there gaskets on the manifold and are they reusable?

I bought the same manifold. It would only fit on the drivers side.

This is the info from SoCals web site:

· • 2004.5- 2008 LLY-LBZ-LMM SD manifold for the Duramax. This kit replaces the upper I/C boot, just after the turbo on the drivers side.

· This provides a means of running a boost sensor, or what ever you wish to plumb in with out the need of tapping the engine intake manifold or I/C tube.

· Ports are 1/16” and 1/8” NPT

4JRJ, thanks for the post. That clears that up. I may tackle today, indoors. Raining buckets here in Central California.
