: H2 Wheels or something new ?????

I have a set of chromed H2 wheels.........they are 2 years old and some 25K miles on them. Before our winter started here in CT. we got an early snow storm and the rims got salt on them.......you would think chrome would be OK, but apparently not......http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif .......in a short amount of time one rim really took a beating.

Anyway only got badly damaged and cosmetically it looks like.......http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/Throwup.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/Throwup.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/Throwup.gif ...the other three I could live with, but they are far from perfect now......

So I still have a good set of Pro Comp 33-12.50-17's and can either sell rims with tires "AS IS" and then swap to something new or even used if they were in mint condition.........or should I just look at aquiring one rim only........

After 2 years I am somewhat ready for a change........anyone have any advice as to what to buy and where to go.......I need some ideas for rims.....even if I go back to a 16x8 would be fine. I am not looking for an 18 or 20 either..........

Thanks,

After 2 years and 25K miles you probably need new tires too. So why not pick up another set of takeoffs.

They are not BFG takeoffs, they wee Pro-Comp Mud tearrains and they still have way more that 50% tread left.

I am not interested in the standard grey aluminum look either.

I either need to buy 1 rim, a new set of rims and tires or just a different set of 17" rims.

What about rechroming or powdercoating the ones that you have?

The dealer here told me that is all the "factory" chrome ones are, just some grey ones they sent off to the local chrome shop...

Tony, I agree with your thinking of getting some different ones...it was cool to have the H2's but they are sooo played out now it seems that everywhere you look you can see H2's on a Chevy/GMC...I am very happy with my new Weld's..the finish on them put the H2's and many other chrome wheels to shame.

Tony,

Mine chromes pitted after the first year. Big waste of money.
