It had a 2001 8.1 that he converted to drive by cable. Several tuners and GM Master Tech's worked on it for a while before I did but still couldnt make it run right without the drive by wire. I spent three long days on it, lots of trial and error and tuning, but by the end of the third day I had it roasting the tires off. I would assume they did the same thing I did. 6.0 drive by cable ECM with a very custom tune (took a lot of work to perfect it for the 8.1), 6.0 throttle body, lots of custom wiring, but the most important thing that is key is the oxygen sensors. A 6.0 ECM will run like the 8.1 like shit with 8.1 O2 sensors hooked up. You need 6.0 O2 sensors from a 2001-2002 LQ4 only... still, a lot of work for....what advantage? The drive by wire system is no less reliable than any electronically controlled engine itself. So many less headaches, and you dont need the custom tune. 900 bucks WOW.
