: Opinions wanted!
I have a LLY 04.5 truck, with a MBRP exhaust and downpipe, and a Airiad intake I am going to buy a programmer this week and would like opinions on which one either a Diablo, or edge, truck pulls my race car and is other wise my daily driver.
Thank you in advance:ro)
dmaxalliTech 04-17-2005, 11:04 PM Edge is nice as it has the gauges in the attitude, Diablo is one of the more popular tuners for the LLY so far, very smooth for the most part, but its advisable to add gauges with the Pred so your costs will be about the same in the end either way.
05LLY2500HD 04-17-2005, 11:12 PM I pull a fifth wheel, but only maybe twice or 3 times a year. I was looking for performance when I bought. I have both, I like the edge better.

I guess the question is, can you separate the race from the work with this truck, or are you at a high risk for getting caught up in the race truck thing? If you don't plan to do transmission upgrades, I might suggest the Edge EZ. If you go to the Juice or Predator, stay out of the top tunes...

muddinmoon 04-18-2005, 10:34 AM Any plug and play tuners that would not need extra gauges. I am worried about loosing my precious warranty.??. What would be the max HP setting anyone would suggest without worrying about trashing -:t the tranny. (I was leaning toward a chip or tuner box so I can put it back to stock quickly if I had to go to the dealer). Eventually I would like to get the edge attitude with all the gauges in one system but I only have about 1250 miles and want to be over 10,000 before I go tapping into any manifolds.
 Any Ideas:confused:
THanks, Nate
As Kennedy said, the Edge EZ would work, and probably work fine without gauges and tranny work.
muddinmoon 04-18-2005, 11:46 AM The EZ over super chips or Bullydog, Xcelerator,(I know kennedy doesn't like super chips)... Are they all going to be about the same I heard some produce higher exhaust gasses... and other unfavorable issues...
Thanks again,
Nate
HEy thanks guys my truck has 21,000 miles on it right now, and I can't say i won't get caught up in the race truck thing. Its happened with every vechile I own but am trying not to with this one! Everyone on the forum is so helpful I appericate it very much. I ordered a Preadator, and plan on using the 65 hp tune, that should be okay right?
gunbunny 04-19-2005, 02:14 AM Should be fine.
McRat 04-19-2005, 11:20 AM The only way to remove the 96mph limiter or adjust the speedo for tires, with tuning is the uploaders, like TTS, PPE, Predator, Bully Dog, Quad, etc. Edge, VA, and other harness boxes won't do it.
To hot rod the truck, you will need to beef up the soft parts in the trans. If it's 4x4, you should get tie rod supports as well.
Which tuner is "best" for your stated application? Probably the TTS Tow. But if you are going to hotrod it, I'd start with the PPE or Predator.
