I've posted in the suspension area but no replies, thought the 6.5ers might have some insight.

I have broken the rear rear upper shock mount on the truck, combination of rust and a dirt road. Has anyone ever replaced one of these and is there anywhere to buy one new? I've done some searching and nothing, scrapyard I'm thinking.

The bone yard is the only place to get one. Same thing happened on my cousins 89. Found a good one at the junk yard and swapped them out. Not exactly a quick fix though.

I welded mine and it's holding up good.

Thanks guys, sounds like I'm going a hunting....angle grinder and a generator is great for the scrap yard.

Our 89 did the same thing...about 6 months ago, and im still only rocking 3 shocks :rolleyes: haha heck i drove a 72 nova with no rear shocks for about a year

Same as myself, I just removed the shock for now until I can get something to replace the mount with. I can feel a little difference with it gone.

Mine tore through the middle a couple years ago. Got one off a half ton truck for my one ton, they seem to be all the same. I bolted the replacement one on where the factory rivets where, just like replacing a factory ball joint. Has worked perfect.
