OK...I got the location right this time and I have some thick (3/16") Aluminum layin around but the question is...

Will aluminum be ok for the blocker or will it melt? Are the temps just too high for aluminum and if so...what material would you recommend?

Thanks for your patience all, I'm really new at doing mods to ANY of my vehicles.

Why don't you just buy one? Here's a nice, stainless steel one for $13.50 including shipping:

3/16" is too thick and yes aluminum is too soft of a metal, stainless is by far the best. And like the other guys were saying just buy one its faster

When you block the EGR is there any other mod just for that change? Do you leave the connector on the valve?

Yes leave the connector plugged in. When you install the plate make sure that you place it between the egr valve and the gasket. When I installed mine I remmoved the air intake tube and removed and moved the turbo cover for more room. Use a 3/8 rachet and a long 12 mm socket.
