I just filled up with diesel about 10 min ago, and the first light that i hit(about 20 sec away from the station) my truck began to kinda 'backfire' at idle rpm. I got it home and got out let it run and when it kinda backfired/chuged there was a black puff of smoke from the tail pipe....and when watching the engine when it did this it would like have a heavy shake... Do you guys have any idea what is going on here??? Gotta be on the road tomorrow at 5am gotta get this figured out fast!
Thanks!!!!!!

i bet you got water in your distributor cap.........;)
Well I solved my problem.. I got this remedy from a HD diesel mech. He said to pull out the fuel filter, get rid of all the fuel in there (soaked it up with rags, and then cleaned it out.) Then filled it with oil. put the filter back in, ran the motor, and pretty well instantly it ran 100% again. He also said to put about 2 Liters of oil in your tank about once a month or soo.

Mine does that when the filter housing has an internal fuel restriction.
then u just replace the fuel filter.?
how many kms or miles are the fuel filters good for, and is the consensus that i got some back fuel?

I'd backflush the filter from the IP fuel inline and out through the waterdrain T, if fuel/water doesn't come out fast with it open. put a bottle under the line so you can see what came out after.
