My 05 has only ever did the fuel limp mode when it was "chipped", the mode only allows you to turn 2,000 rpms but will go thru all 5 gears?
any suggestions on how to fix it? I would also like to know what causes it, torque, cluches etc.??
Thanks

Lots of problems cause the Low fuel rail pressure. (If thats what you are talking about)
Common Culprits:
Fuel Filter
FPRV
Fuel Leak
Not so common: (doubt an edge chip could call for this much fuel)
Lack of Lift pumps
Lack of twin CP3's

I shimed the fuel rail and it hasent done it since its like a o-ring it goes in the fuel rail. But if u shut ur truck off it resets itself correct????

yes when you shut the pick up off it resets and then is fine. cant get it to do it in tow haul though.
and i dont know if the edge is calling for that much fuel or not but it only did it once in the last two years with a quadzilla stealth. and has done it multiple times with the edge

Mine has done it 6 times with the edge and a boost stick.

How many miles?
My truck has 98k on it, started doing this to me shortly after I bought it around 95k. Only did it with the boost turned up (ie, more demand on the fuel system).......Replaced the FPRV underneath the glow plug assy with a new FPRV (some people choose to use a race valve) and I haven't gotten it since.

Why?
Huckstorf diesel sells both parts, and they recommended the LBZ valve for mine (slightly stronger than an LLY valve, I guess). The race valve doesn't have the capability to bleed off pressure in case of a sudden spike in rail pressure, and there is a chance of cracking the fuel rail = no thanks;)
If I got 95k out of the OEM valve, it'll take me 10 more years to go that far again;)

^^^ With last years diesel prices it would take me 10 years to afford it!!! Good luck!!!

The key is to prevent this from happening by removing the restriction in the fuel system. This is handled by adding a lift pump. Do this first, keep your tuning sensible, and you should not have any problems.
