I really want a 4" but my exhaust shop tells me the kit I bought won't fit. I'm wondering if I will get the same results from a new (FM) 2.25 crossover and 3" down pipe going to just a 3" straight pipe the rest of the way? How about a high flow muffler with this?

Anybody have success on a yukon/tahoe with any of the 4" kits available?

Thanks,...Mike

I bought a BD kit made for the Suburban. 4" cat-back design. Worked wonders, even my wife noticed the difference.

What kit did you buy? Most kits are universal for the different wheelbases. Alot of shops can't handle the 4" stuff, but if you find one that does, they should be able to make just about anything work.

I got the SS Diesel 4". Know of any good shops in San Diego?

The shop will tell you anything if they don't want to install a customer bought item. Find another muffler shop, preferably a shop that is run by the owner.

The kit should fit. There is usually a section that you need to cut to length. If you bought it from SSD, give him a call, he should be able to guide you in installation.

Call them first.

Ask them point blank if they are installing an exhaust system that you already have before going there. Most shop do it.

I asked the 1st shop before I took it in. This new shop talked pretty confidently about an install, rather than just looking at it in the box and saying it ain't gonna fit...

looks like there's room under there to me.
