I know on the 03 and newer you have a two stage t/h button where you can lockout 5th which would have been nice on the dyno instead of running it in 0/D. Does anybody know what it takes to give my ally that option. Eventually i will be upgrading the tranny but that of course wont change this problem but will fix my slipping problem and my limp mode problems also.

Yes there is a way to install this on a 2001-2002 truck. Go to http://www.kennedydiesel.com/ and look under tech tips for a good description of the install.

I have installed the 5th gear lockout switch on my 2002 truck.

You first need to get the most recent software installed in the TCM (note: if you have updated your TCM software after approximately April, 2002, you most likely are good to go). The dealer will have to check this for you. Next you need to purchase the connector pins described in the article on the Kennedy website. I picked up a switch from Radio Shack (though any electronic store will do). Takes about 1 hour to install pins in connector, run wire to cab and install switch.

thanx very much. I do tow ! Alot and heavy but really i have not experienced the shift business since before i put the ez on my truck although there is times i wish i could lockout 5th exspecially yestarday on the dyno. Thanx guys
