I have a 2003 GMC 2500HD with the power extendable mirrors. Well I was backing out of my garage I broke the pasenger mirror. I was able to get a new mirror from the dealer for $120 and that was fine. While at the dealer we discovered one of the nylon screws that are used to move the mirror up and down is broken. The dealer said they could not get me this small part and that the only way to fix it was spend $650 for a whole new housing and mirror. They recomended that a I look at a Junk yards. So far no luck. Any Ideas where to find this part. I prefer not to spend $650 for a .25 cent screw. Thanks in advance John (Pathfinder)

Give these guys a try. They licensed the mirror to GM, so they may have the part.

or... www.newgmparts.com (http://www.newgmparts.com) they are a dealer somewhere out east i think that gives wholesale type prices over the internet.

i busted the same mirror on my tahoe same way. my local dealer wanted an arm and a leg for the replacement because it had some kind of special defrosting gel in it. the website i showed you only wanted the arm.

I just recently cracked the housing on mine, I am going to try and smooth it out and juct crazy glue it together, but its all BS they dont sell mirror housings adn all the parts associated separately. I had to buy a mirror for my 93 Yukon, and bought it from a place hear in Indianapolis called Auto Body Panels. They are regional and sell knock off body parts.... may be worth a google search
