I purchased my truck used a little over a year ago and since I have had it there has been a vibration when the truck is in the "park" gear. The vibration is felt when sitting in the driver or passenger seat and only happens in park. The total length of each cycle is about 3 - 4 seconds; vibrates for 2 seconds then nothing for 1 - 2 seconds then right back into the vibration. The vibration starts out soft, becomes harder, then returns to soft. The weird thing is that this cycle seems to hit the drivers and passenger side of the vehicle at different times. I had my brother sit in the passenger side and I called out the vibration cycle but the passenger side was about a 1/2 second behind the drivers side.

Is this normal or any ideas on what to check? I have not thought much of it and have continued to drive the truck as is but I thought I would post here to see if others have this same issue.

I have the gatorback serpentine belt on and I changed all fluids and filters in the truck upon purchase. The time has come for a new fuel filter but as mentioned this has happened since I purchased it.

I've checked in all gears; R, N, D, 3, 2, 1. There seems to be no vibration in any gear other then P.

My truck does it and also my ford van does it. I haven't felt it in a manual trans so it may have something to do with the fluid in the torque converter. Slight increase in rpm's will stop it.

Not sure I follow - are you saying to check the transmission mount as it may have worked its way loose/out?
