: I think I've started something

Well guys, I think I've started something. I went 4.5 months without adding any accessory to my truck aside from the nerf bars for the wife and kids to climb up in.

While planning our summer vacation to Yellowstone, I reasoned that I really "need" a heavier duty bumper. You know, incase a buffalo walks out in front of us. So I had a Ranch Hand Bull nose installed this week. Looks real good.

Now I have light tabs on my new bumper. I know those light tabs should have lights on them, right? But now the Front does not match the back.

I am going to have to buy the rear to match. All the while the wife keeps rolling her eyes.

Also, we can't have our luggage and belongings just sitting in the bed of the truck now can we. So yesterday I ordered an Undercover. Will be installed next week.

See... Once it starts, it never stops. :ro) Here we go. Back to the poor house.

Can't believe no one has anything to say.

Can anyone recomend a 6" light? I live on the Gulf coast so they need to be corosion resistent.

About the only thing I have found so far is Hella 6" round. Shows to have a plastic housing.

well now you need a power programer to haul the weight better. a built tranny to hold the extra power! and more power to keep the tranny happy. dont forget the 6" lift and 35" tires because the bumper makes the truck look low.

As much as I would like to bump up the HP, for now I am going to leave the engine alone. I don't want to expose the truck's weak links with extra power that I don't really need.

As far as a lift goes, I still want to be able to get into my garage. The antenna already hits the door frame.

Just wait the power bug will get you. There is no shot for this sickness, and it only gets worse!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/crazy.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/Insane.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/help2.gif

i've heard great things about lightforce lights, hella makes some great lights too. You could always use some tried and true KC daylighters if you don't want to spend a lot of $. I had the 150watt sealed beam daylighters on my jeep and those things were bright!

NOS is the only SHOT that I know of that will somewhat cure it. But it is a short lived one and you will always need to get it redone to see the benifits. Kind of like herpes. It's always with you now.

Had an Undercover tonneau installed today. I think I'm infected with the bug real bad. Now I "need" to have a rear bumper installed to match the front.

Still looking for lights for the front bumper. I think I am leaning toward the Hella #500. These are 6" round. But I am still looking.

with a new bumper you will probably notice you need new shocks, the stockers wont last.

I was afraid of that. Is Rancho 5000 the one's to get?

Buy Bilstein

IIRC The company that builds our stock shocks builds ranchos.

Ditto on Bilstein's.
A Brite Box set up to activate low/high & foglamps and Sylvania Silver Stars is great way to go for more light on those mountain roads. All OEM connectors, a little pricey but a very clean installation with no wire hacking.
But if you really gotta fill those holes on that new bumper, remeber . . .ya gotta install another switch, run wire etc. not a bad thing.
Like you said, once you get started. . .
My wife even said "what's the next piece of truck jewelry?"
But honey, it's all practical, useful and adds functionality! It's a good thing, really. Of course, now she likes driving the rig as much as I.

Can you post some pictures of the bull nose installed on your truck?

Once you get those Bilsteins bought and installed, you will prob want to think about a bypass oil filter system and also a pre OEM fuel filter. Also, then you may want to think about Super Diesel's tie rod ends. Then, you'll find you may want to change the exhaust. You really should change out the hitch to a class 5 hitch in the back. I can go on some more.....hehehe. Welcome to a new drug!!!
