Med duty Dmax takes more oil to fill than the pickups, maybe a dumb question, but are you positive it was full when you changed it?

Also, how many miles since that change?

And was it low before you changed it at that time?

mine always shows full on an oil change...then shows lower after I drive it around for a while. Go ahead and check it again after you top it off and see if is down.

Gm considers 1qt per 100gal of fuel acceptable, and 2qt per 100gal during break in. The Cat in My Freight used a ton of oil for the first 10,000mi it used about a gallon every 1000mi now at 94,xxxmi it only uses a gallon or so in 15K.

My 2004.5 with 40,000 miles uses 1 quart every 3,000 miles. When it had less than 20,000 usage was closer to 1,500 miles to a quart. My engine has PCV reroute and EGR blocker plate on it for last 5,000 miles. Oil usage appears to be less. I have 3,000 miles since last oil change. Oil level is down about 1/2 quart.

My 2007 would burn through 4 quarts every 7,000 miles. Did this for the first 25,000 miles . Since then I will only go through a quart or two every 7,000 miles.
Nice color Diesel 52, I thought I was the only one in Greystone Metallic...
Keep the oil topped off, but dont worry too much.
