Noticed other day my leaf over load spring is out of line . Truck pulls to right all the time. Got front end alinement done , help very little . Question .... Can you back axle move ? U bolts look OK ,Can't see where it moved but got to hold on to steering wheel or go off the road. This is not a diesel Q. but the truck is. Any help would be great on IF and HOW to FIX . And NO the frame is not bent , never had an accident.

If your aliagnment pins are not broken you might want to try replacing your leaf spring bushings where they attatch to the frame and/or checking to see if one side is sagging(is your truck higher or lower on one side in the rear).

having never taken this apart so don't know how its put together, I gather that there is a centre bolt going threw the leaf springs . THE truck is sitting level . I'll have to try to get the Ubolts undone and have a look . Do you have to go to GM to get these parts or can they be had at aftermarket place"s ?

be sure you put 2 C-Clamps (large) on the springs BEFORE you remove the U bolts. IF the center bolt is brroken then the springs will spread apart when you remove the U bolt. The C-clamps will hold everything together while you replace the center bolt.

Check around your area for a shop that does spring work (usually for big trucks), and they can make you a set of U bolts and get you a new center bolt. You should replace the U bolts, and I am sure that the threads will be damaged getting them off if you don't actually end up cutting them (due to rusty, frozen threads). As Bowtie suggested, use the large C clamps to keep it all together.

I found out that left side ubolts wern't tight enought, let axle slip 3/4 -1 in. Good thing I checked them because one side was eaten out by 1/8 of in. all around, so new ones going in. Thanks for your help Guys .
