I know their are already a ton of exhaust threads but im looking at buying intake and exhaust for my dually and want the right combo for me, one of my friends has a 03 LB7 with banks intake and mbrp turbo back 4" and i really like the intake but ive riden in the truck quite a few times and dont know if i like the deep drone it produces, so on to my question im at a toss up between magnaflow and mbrp and my only real dilemma here is i have never heard a mag in person but from reading on here ive heard theyre quieter, i want louder than stock exhaust but i do not want drone so is magnaflow a happy medium or is their another cost related option like diamond eye? and yes ive read all the exhaust threads i just didnt feel like they quite answer my exact question

I have budget exhaust starting at $279 with a muffler. They are good kits, they dont like qaulity for there price.

i have a diamond eye 4" turbo back exhaust and im fixing to order a S&B intake system... for the money and quality i think the are the best... you can get the S&B for around $270 from most places verses $400-$500 for other intakes...

i just installed a 4 inch magnaflow on mine,after two weeks i did a muffler delete.i have very little drone inside the truck.my boys 2008 5.3 will out drone my truck any day of the week,he has a stock pipe with a ravin muffler,i can't even think inside his truck

thanks guys for the replys im starting to lean on magnaflow, slick i like that it doesnt drone but what was your reason to take the muffler off was it too quiet even at WOT for example? and if you dont mind me asking what did you pay for your system and where did you get it, id like to get mine from a diesel place supporting vendor becasue through reading through these forums they all for the most part are very helpful all around.

Best thing to do is call around and get prices from vendors. Get a turbo back system. If you want quiet get a longer muffler. The shorter the muffler, the louder it is. Everyone makes different length mufflers. 26" or more should get you fairly quiet.

I personally have more complaints with the long MBRP muffler droning than the short Magnaflow muffler. I run a 17902 magnaflow system on my 06, and i have very little drone in the cab, and it is quite loud outside when you get on it. It is my preferred system, but it only fits the crew cab short bed, so if you don't have that configuration, get a Diamond Eye 4" system. Their muffler is very quiet in the cab as well.

i suggest going with Diamond Eye and S&B. The Diamond Eye kits are very nice and made right here in the USA. They have a decent sized muffler so they will not be as loud as the others you have mentioned. We have also not had any drone issues with them. S&B makes an excellent intake that is priced right. Their flow and filtration numbers are also some of the best out there. Please let me know if youd like a quote on a package deal.

DSTRBD, im not so much worried about how loud it is my old silvy gasser had a decent exhaust that when i was parked in the driveway next to my girlfriends house would wake her parents up and now they sleep just fine and thats just not acceptable in my standards :), all im worried about is drone, im interested in the diamond eye/S&B package deal also if you offer magnaflow id like a qoute on a package deal also thanks.
