Well guys, tommorow is almost here. I can hardly wait.

A few of us from Colorado will be going to Bandimeres speedway tommorow. We all plan on dialing in our trucks and messing around with our current setups. Once we are finished with our own trucks, we will then swap a few of the goodies.

There is the possibillaty of 2 separate trucks with adequate transmission/fuel systems and other equiptment to run a SAME DAY SAME TRUCK back to back comparison between the QAUD tuner and the EXTREME custom ECM.

Any thoughts on how to make this a fair comparison?

I guess when this is all over we can learn who's tuner was better on this particular day.

There will always be different trans, tires, fuel mods, truck weights :blahblah: to keep this fight alive as no 2 trucks will ever be the exact same lined up against each other, but it would be nice to see :D

built transmisson is a must for any reasonable results...............stocks gonna slip with any power over a 120 hp..................215 might as well be 415 with a stock tranny

Both of the potentail trucks have built transmissions. One is a full ATS and one is an ATS hybird.

These trucks will not race eachother. They will use the Quad for the best time then they will use the Extreme for the best time.

So really driver error is my biggest concern.

Quad version 4.02 revision 1.23.

I think that is how you say the most recent stuff he offers.

Isn't the Extreme VIN specific? How do you get around that? Does each truck have its own extreme?

Bronco

Two trucks, two Extremes, two stock ECM's one Quad.

Two trucks, Two built transmissions, Two lift pumps, Two or maybe four bottles of N20?

I'll guess, and I mean totally guess.. that the E will be 1 sec quicker on ave. between both trucks.. should have a poll and see who's guesses closest..

Who are the Xtreme trucks?

Bronco

If I told you , you might call them and pressure them to drive the Quad at 3/4 pedal.

One for sure. IBDMAXIN.

Maybe, Hopefully GMSLEHD

Those that have already run this test with a Quad/Juice combination Vs Xtreme alone have found .3 sec improvement. So if you run a Quad by itself I would expect that plus some. You can check with Sdaver, Carbon04, SuperDiesel and others as this has been done many times with the outcome the same each and every time. The real difference is just not the improvement at the track but also the overall drivability of the truck is greatly improved with the Xtreme.

Quad alone vs Xtreme I would imiagine a .5 second difference.

But what would I know ????????

last fall Quad 215ver1.20 13.30@100mph 1.70 60'
Quad 215ver1.20/edge hotlv3 13.19@101.60mph 1.70 60'

last weekend Extreme 12.82@105.30mph 1.82 60'

I am guessing the extreme will best it by .5

First you have to taste all the soups to know. You sir, have yet to do that. So your culinary opinion is one sided. I do however value your opinion regarding the main course as well as dessert, these things you have certainly mastered.

Your choice of soup is good, just somewhat lacking in spice. :D

I'm sure the rest of the chefs are very busy trying to figure out the recipe.

Might want to do the testing from idle in 4x4. No powerbraking or spooling. Less chance of traction issues, driver variation, or 60' times affecting ET's.

But that's no fun!! :D

co-pilot was taken off before I went to the track and transgo valves were put back in. I didn't like what the co-pilot did. I feel that the setup I have know shifts quicker and cleaner. Yes I do have lift pumps now. Did they help, it seems like it. Do I think that it would be closer without? Not really. There is a .5sec difference and 4.xxmph. Lift pumps can't help that much. I am just stating my truck. No it wasn't back to back.

I really wish I had some kickazz story about the awesome competition between the Extreme and the Quad. I don't.

GMSLEHD spent his day at the dyno in Greeley so that was one of the test trucks.

IBDMAXIN was going to use an ECM that SPD33 was going to bring. Chad did not bring it with him.

I did not want to lone my ECM becasue the relearn would take to long. We had racing to do. However IBDMAXIN will share some kickazz Extreme/N20 kills with you all later.

Maybe somebody else will get around to this test at a later date?

Sorry!

Don't wanna hurt anyone's feelers but Steve Cole is still the Duramax King for the LB7 tunes. Like it or not. Every dyno I have witnessed with the two tuners has the TTS being hotter. The only question is by how much.

LLY? PPE so far is the hottest thing anyone can order. Steve might have a hotter tune, but nobody is saying anything.

Next weekend we will have TTS LB7 Extreme trucks against my PPE tuned LLY in a sled pull. Once again, I will probably be one of the weakest trucks that show. This time, 2nd place ain't going to cut it. I want a first. Obviously a TTS tune would give me an advantage, but I do just fine as an underdog. Last time I ran a TTS Tow against TTS Extreme trucks, and kicked ass. This time, I'm not handing them a 180rwhp advantage, and they better brace themselves. I'm hunting for bear. :D

PS - The above post is just good natured smack talk. I'm showing up once again with less HP than the LB7 trucks, so I need to stir it up.

Unless lightning strikes, I'm going to be out-gunned once again. It's hard enough to run against LB7's WITHOUT the TTS Extreme tunes, but with them them? Let's just say I'll have my work cut out for me.

My apologies for leaving the stock PCM at home. It was the furthest from my mind in the two days I had to get caught up with things at home prior to this trip. I don't believe though it would have done any good as Wade was having way to much fun smoking the competition. I doubt we could have made him leave the truck sitting long enough to make the necessary changes.

:) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Two back to back Nitrous powered Corvettes couldn't hold a candle to the truck!!! ;) ;)

The best kill was my first run in with the vette's, it was cherry red with a big drag wing in the back, running M/T drag slicks, nitrous, ram air, chip and exhaust. Lets just say the crowd went nuts when I spanked it by two or more truck lenths in the 1/4 mile!!!! I went 12.391 @ 112.5mph to the vette's 13.081 @ 104.75. Looks like the vettes are more fun to play with at 6000 ft. elevation!!!

Sorry for killing this thread with no results but I was having way too much fun drag racing!!!!

What's that equal to at sea level ? About a 8.9 second quarter ? :ro)

Bronco
04-17-2005, 09:26 PM
I think a naturally aspirated car is about a 1.5 second difference. Maybe 2 seconds.

The correction for a N20 or turbo/super charged vehicle is smaller.

I watched the run and I guess if we were at sea level Wade would have been in the high 11's.

It was very impressive to make a run like that at 6000ft, but I don't think I'll be holding a candle to Tomac yet, I'd still need a couple hundred more runs on the track and just as many if not more in the pulling arena!!!

Tomac was the one that showed the world what the d-max could do in competetion and continues to do so regardless of the power boxes he runs. I think he's one hell of a racer and competitor and have tremendous respect for the things he's done for the d-max. Go get 'em' Mike!!! :grd:
