: LMM twin build....pics inside
DuramaxPowered 03-11-2009, 04:45 PM The LMM twin build is underway...... DMAXVAZ and me got quite a bit of fabrication done today. All the EGR and stock parts are off of the motor and I have the pass side LB7 up-pipe on. The turbo mount and hotpipe and tacked up and so far the progress has been smooth. Big thanks to DMAXVAZ for all the help!!!

DuramaxPowered 03-12-2009, 02:36 PM Welded hotpipe and the battery mount
AlligatorPerformance 03-12-2009, 03:05 PM Looks good!
DuramaxPowered 03-12-2009, 03:10 PM How's this for an airfilter?
mainer 03-12-2009, 03:18 PM if you were to mount your battery tray closer to the front the stock cables will reach.
i just moved my battery the other night. i talked to dmaxvaz on the phone and he didnt think the cables would reach, talking to duratothemax (ben) said they would reach and they do indeed reach, just need to reroute the + cable around the backside of the motor mount.
much easier than extending the cables.
jonathancasey19 03-12-2009, 03:58 PM where does the maf go?
DuramaxPowered 03-12-2009, 04:01 PM where does the maf go?
I have to build the mounting point still
DuramaxPowered 03-12-2009, 04:02 PM if you were to mount your battery tray closer to the front the stock cables will reach.

much easier than extending the cables. Well, I already extended the cables. If I would have put the battery farther forward it would have to be lower because of the contour of the floorpan.
subman631 03-12-2009, 08:42 PM Looks pretty good, how big a down pipe you using?
DuramaxPowered 03-12-2009, 09:28 PM Looks pretty good, how big a down pipe you using?
I'm going to use a 4". I could probably squeeze a 5" but it would be VERY tight. the way I see it is the turbine discharge is roughly 3", it'll never be under 4" once the exhaust come out of the turbo so it should be good.
CrewCabMax 03-12-2009, 09:51 PM Where are you getting the piping?? Is it pre bent of do one of you have a bender??
dmaxvaz 03-12-2009, 10:01 PM Hey that looks good.. See what a good college education at UNOH can do for ya dmaxvaz? Haha
HAHA- THATS WHAT I PAID 25K FOR?:D TOO BAD I DIDNT GO FOR A HIGH PERFORMANCE DEGREE, I WOULD HAVE WHOOPED ALOT OF THEM KIDS IN FAB CLASS. WHATS GOIN ON DUSTIN? GET THAT MOTOR BUILT YET, IS FPE DOING IT?
SMITH6.6 03-12-2009, 11:41 PM looking good were are you going with your coolant reservoir
DuramaxPowered 03-13-2009, 01:22 AM Where are you getting the piping?? Is it pre bent of do one of you have a bender??
Pre-bent piping from various mail order places for the small. For the 4" and 5" there is a shop about 25 minutes from me that has a mandrel bender for the big stuff
DuramaxPowered 03-13-2009, 01:24 AM looking good were are you going with your coolant reservoir
Not quite sure yet......I was going to get the piping done first and put it where ever it fits. If it doesn't fit well anywhere some aluminum is getting Tig'd up:D
CrewCabMax 03-13-2009, 10:48 AM Whats the shop called that can do mandrel bending on the big stuff? Where's it located? Thats deffinitly a handy resource to have right down the road!
generalwar 03-13-2009, 11:40 AM Did you remove the 2nd battery or relocate it?

DuramaxPowered 03-13-2009, 12:12 PM Did you remove the 2nd battery or relocate it?
Relocated it to the passenger side framerail, just behind the seat. post #9 has a pic
DuramaxPowered 03-13-2009, 04:29 PM Here's a couple pics of the elbow I'm using for the intake of the stock turbo, and a shot of the start of the downpipe.
DuramaxPowered 03-18-2009, 01:50 AM Update...wastegate will be done tomorrow. Hopefully the intake to the stock turbo will be completed also.

DuramaxPowered 03-19-2009, 03:14 AM Here's an update on the boost pipe between turbos........I have to use painter tape to hold pipes for now because my argon for the tig welder needs to be refilled:rolleyes:.......will be welded up later today......This pipe is 3.5" aluminum and is going to be polished up nicely:bling:

fire0021 05-08-2009, 06:02 PM looks good nice job. hows it running ?
DuramaxPowered 05-09-2009, 09:39 PM It's running good........ I went to the track once and had a serious lift pump issue and didn't have good results. I'm hoping to make it out to the track next week. With a 3150PW tune I'm at 50psi boost and 1200* EGT's. With the lift pump issue I was at less than 1100* EGT:D and dropping 10K PSI rail pressure:lol:.
DURAtotheMAX 05-21-2009, 10:52 PM any pics of how the piping goes from the intercooler to the intake of the engine? Did you use the stock intake grid heater/manifold piece??
